Frequently Asked Questions

Account & Billing

Yes, it’s easy to change the credit card being billed during a subscription. The method is slightly different depending on which biller you joined through.

To find out which biller you joined through

It’s very likely you joined via GMBill.com, our primary biller (around 99% of all customers use GMB). There are several ways to check which biller you joined through, listed as easiest first:

  1. Visit the My Account page on abbywinters.com (you must be logged in for this link to work). On the left panel, “Account Summary”, the biller used is listed.
  2. Locate the subscriptions confirmation email we sent when you joined (probably search your email for emails mentioning “abbywinters.com”), the biller will be clearly identified there.
  3. Check your credit card statement to find out which biller you joined via – it will say “CCBill.com” or “GMBill.com”.

Change credit card with our primary biller, GMBill.com

Login with GMBill.com’s Account Lookup tool. You will need your abbywinters.com username and password. On the left panel, update your credit card details (for security reasons, all details are required, even if you’re just updating the expiration date).

Change credit card with our our secondary biller, CCBill.com

Log in to CCBill’s customer support page, and use the “change credit card” option.

There are three ways you can pay to join up to abbywinters.com (there are also three different ways to buy our material).

With credit card

Joining using a credit card is the most common, fastest, reliable and easiest method. We work closely with our primary secure biller, GMBill.com. If that transaction fails you’re routed to our backup biller, CCBill, but joining via CCBill has many limitations (no discounts, no Pay-per-scene are the major two), and lacks flexibility (no upgrades).

To join with a credit card, visit the Join page, select one of the three ways to buy, and proceed.

With cash, sending through the mail

If you value anonymity, do not have a credit card, or your credit card is being rejected, you can send cash through the mail to join. This is a little more expensive, slow and comes with some obvious risks to you (money being lost in the mail), but tends to work fine.

You need to print off a form that accompanies your cash (strictly Euro or US Dollars only). The form is on the Pay By Mail page.

With Bitcoin

Read more about paying with Bitcoin on Can I pay with Bitcoin?

Payment methods we do not support

We do not accept PayPal (they offer very unfavourable terms for adult companies to use their service), iDeal, or any other payment method, sorry.

Our billing system does not have a renew function, so if you would like to change your subscription from a non-rebilling type to one that rebills automatically, or if you wish to change the length of your rebill cycle from x month(s) to y month(s) you will need to let your current subscription lapse, then rejoin for the period you want access for.

We aren’t able to do this ourselves on your behalf. Any changes to credit card billing must be made by the cardholder, which is done by rejoining.

IMPORTANT: You must wait until your current subscription lapses before rejoining with a new credit card (we’ll send you an email the minute it expires).

Our maximum PPS account top-up is $150 (that is, from a balance of $0, a top up of $150 can be made; if the balance was $40 for example, only a $110 topup could be made: $150 is the total allowable balance).

However, the $150 balance option is only available to people using a secure method of making top-ups, 2FA. More info.

abbywinters.com is one big site, but customers can choose to only pay to access a sub-set of the whole, saving them some money. To gain access to any abbywinters.com sub-sites you’re not already subscribed to, head over to My Account (from the Control Panel top right, select Preferences, then select the subscriptions tab).

Click the Upgrade! button for the site you’d like to gain access to.

We make it easy to cancel rebills. But first…

Regardless of how you cancel

Do not assume rebills are actually cancelled until you receive the confirmation email, sent within a few minutes of cancelling. The email may be in your spam folder.

You can also check if your cancellation was successful by visiting the Members home, top right corner of the page, be logged in, and look to the right of Logged in as .

If you don’t see a line that says Expires in: , your rebills are not cancelled!

How do I know who billed me?

abbywinters.com does not bill you directly – we work with billing companies who ensure your credit card data is kept securely.

We work with two billers, GMBill and CCBill. The majority of our sales are processed through through GMBill so it’s likely you’re being billed through GMB. CCBill is our back-up biller.

The best way to know which biller you are being billed through is to review your credit card statement – the line item will clearly indicate CCBill or GMBill.

ABOVE: Searching for the biller name in the online credit card portal. There’s one result for GMBill.com in May 2021.

You can also search your emails for the phrase “gmbill” and “ccbill” to see which biller was used when you joined up. The email will mention our site name, abbywinters.com.

Cancelling rebills on abbywinters.com (GMBill.com only)

People who joined up using GMBill.com can cancel their rebills directly from abbywinters.com (if you joined via CCBill, you must cancel your rebills on CCBill’s site).

Be logged in to abbywinters.com. From the Control Panel top right, select Preferences, then select the subscriptions tab. Under “Current Subscription” click “Cancel Rebills”.

If subscribed to several sub-sites, you can choose to cancel only some of them, or all. We ask that you let us know why you’re cancelling, so we can improve the site.

cancel rebills

If you change your mind, rebills can also be “un-cancelled” (that is, you’d like to start being rebilled again).

Because changing a username can have some unintended consequences, only admins can do it. It’s usually no problem, just contact us with your subscription ID.

To stop your account from rebilling (ending your subscription with us when the time you’ve paid for runs out), you need to go to the billing company you joined through. Most likely, this was GMBill.com.

When you cancel your rebills, you will have access to the site for the remainder of the period you have paid for.

For some basic information on your account, when you log in on our news page look in the top right hand corner – we show when you are due to be rebilled, or your account is due to lapse.

For more detailed info, at GMB, you will need to supply the credit card number you used when you joined, and either the email address you used when you joined, or your six- or seven-digit subscription ID. They need this information to ensure it’s you cancelling your account, and not someone else. Of course, they’re not going to bill your credit card for cancelling – we just need to identify you.

When you enter that info on the account info page, you will be able to:

  • cancel any future re-bills
  • check the status of your account
  • check your password if you have forgotten it
  • see when you are due to be rebilled
  • change your listed email address
  • change your password
  • update your credit card details.

You can also go to ‘subscriptions’ from the My Account pull-down menu in the top right hand corner of any page. From there click the button ‘Cancel/Enable Rebills’.

Note: If you use this method, be sure you get the confirmation email before assuming your rebills have been cancelled. This email is sent within a few minutes in most cases. If you don’t receive the email, go to the newspage from the home menu (not with your browser’s back button), be sure you’re logged in, and look to the right of ‘Logged in as ’.. If you don’t see a line that says ‘expires: ’, contact us.

We cannot tell you your password, only you can re-set it (to what you think it should be, if you wish).

To reset your password, start by being logged out from abbywinters.com.

Then, go to log in again, but click “Forgot password” on the login box.

forgot password

When prompted, enter the email address you used when you joined up, confirm you’re not a robot, and click “Send password change email”.

find password enter email

An email will be sent to the account’s associated email address (if you’d like to change your email address, contact us to do that – it only take a moment).

The email should be received in less than 3 minutes. The email may be caught in your spam filter, so check that if you think it should have arrived by now.

When you receive the email – it should be received in less than 60 seconds from clicking the button – click the link in it.

password change email

This brings up the page to change your password:

change pwd

It’s possible your web browser has already pre-filled one or both areas with black dots like this: •••••••. Your browser does this to be helpful, not realising that this is a password change form, not a logging-in form. in this case, simply delete the existing black dots, then proceed.

(1) Enter the new password, (2) Enter the same password again, to confirm it’s correct.

pwd strength

Above, as the password is entered, a strength-meter indicates how good your password is. Strong passwords keep you and us safe on the internet. We recommend using the “Strong password” setting on DinoPass.

The green check mark confirms that the two passwords match – you cannot proceed until they are the same.

Then (3) click “Change password”.

The password is confirmed as being changed, and you are asked to log in again, using your new password.

Pay-per-scene (PPS) accounts allow you to buy individual scenes, and keep access to them forever. First, you buy a “wallet” of credit, then buy scenes using it. When the balance reaches $0, you can add more credit easily, to buy more scenes.

The same credit can also be used in Private Playdates, where you video chat one-on-one with models, paying per-minute (models set their own per-minute rate).

When making a top-up (adding cash to your pay-per-scene wallet), the process works like this.

Identify balance

Your PPS balance is displayed in the User Control Panel, in the top right corner of every page of the site.

PPS balance

Subscribers automatically get a Pay Per Scene wallet when they join, but the balance is $0.

Request a top-up (add more credit to your wallet)

There are various top-up buttons around the site – perhaps the most convenient is on the My Account page (that link will work if you are logged in; or, click your username top right of the screen, then select My Account).

PPS topup option

ABOVE: Where the top-up button is on the My Account page.

Alternatively, when you go to buy a scene but your balance is too low to buy that scene, you’ll be provided the option to top up. During a Private Playdate session, there’s also a top-up button.

Verify who you are

Running any website today, there is a risk malicious people will guess someone’s password, log in as them, and wreak havoc. In this case, someone could charge your card with a credit top-up, and buy scenes / Playdate minutes you don’t want! So, we have two methods for verifying it’s really you doing this topup!

The default easy, less-secure and more-annoying method is by a security question:

PPS top up process

ABOVE: We ask you for your username and password again (1) and (2). Then, (3) we ask for a piece of information from when you first joined, for example, your street name, zip code, or similar OR a security code from an application on your smartphone, more info. Then, you choose how much you wish to add to your credit account (4). Finally, clicking Buy credits (5) charges your card, and updates your account.

If your street address was “1234 Long cloud road”, entering “long cloud” will work fine. If your address is “PO Box 5678”, entering just “5678” will work fine.

If you get one question wrong, we let you know, “Hm, the info you supplied does not match what we have on file. Let’s try a different question.” What if I get two questions wrong?

We also have the option to use One Time Passwords (2FA), which is strongly recommended, and enables more convenient higher-value topups.

Select topup amount

There are a few options for selecting the amount to top up.

  • Top up to the maximum allowed balance
    • This calculates your max balance (based on security method) minus your current balance
    • US$60 for the GMB-question security method / US$150 for the 2FA security method
  • Top up with a fixed amount
    • Always set to $10
  • Top up with an amount you choose
    • But only to the maximum balance allowed based on your security method

How can I top up my PPS account with more money / $150?

abbywinters.com BV and our business partners websites implement best practices in security standards.

The biggest risk is a customer selecting an insecure password – we require reasonably secure passwords when joining, but they can still be cracked. We always recommend long, complicated passwords with lower and uppercase letters, numbers, punctuation, and other special characters.

Some example secure passwords (do not use these!):

xO^yxSCxYx&\Scgt
a*aV=#`:vt_erWW,
C9UMl2u=O=KR#`%"
5\pU:GFVUxXRaQ-,
6NN3ttn|#ud#85d_
QmVy.Qg2'Rh~=+/=

Of course, these are impossible to remember, so we also recommend the use of Password Managers, such as LastPass (a browser plugin) or KeePass (an application on your computer). These make password management easy (you only have to remember one master password), and help you make all your internet accesses secure.

Security steps we take on abbywinters.com

abbywinters.com uses https

Above: abbywinters.com uses HTTPS, meaning data we exchange with you is encrypted.

We use HTTPS for all pages on abbywinters.com (secure hypertext transfer protocol), a well-established method of ensuring communications are encrypted. This prevents eavesdropping and tampering with information between us and you.

When we receive information you provide, we use 256 bit encryption of your information from when you enter it, to where it is stored in our database. Data is encrypted and “salted” (a one-way-encryption, it can never be decrypted) which means we can never see your password – when you’re asked to enter your password, it’s encrypted and salted the same way, and if that matches what we have on record, you’re authenticated.

This is what a salted password looks like in our database (this might be for a simple password like “bigstuff69”):

$2y$10$027JliTBFJuqgpcN1qOmcO6ZzfmbShQ2mDWWpghm77jjkxDfXwUtC'

However, we do securely log incorrect password attempts, to assist our business in providing better security to the site, and to assist customers. These can be decrypted by authorised admin users.

Access to our administration areas (for example, to add new scenes) is password protected, with 2-Factor Authentication (2FA), with one-time passwords.

Our Systems Administrator works to keep our servers up to date, using the latest most-stable versions of software (for example, Linux, Apache, PHP, MySQL, Memcached), and we use an inherently stable platform of Amazon Web Services (“AWS”).

We provide a bounties to ethical hackers who expose flaws in our security systems.

Security steps our billing partner takes

Our billing partner GMBill.com (https://www.gmbill.com) handles management of  customer subscription and processing of customer credit cards.  Credit card numbers are securely stored in a digital “vault” held by a third party specialist. GMBill.com does not have your card number but instead uses a token to communicate to the vault when charges are made against your card.

As you join, or look up your account info on GMBill.com, you’ll see a small padlock icon in the address bar of your web browser. Double click on that for additional security information.

You might also want to read our privacy policy, and our terms and conditions.

This is due to hackers all over the world using your username and password to access this site. We have advanced and aggressive software in place to combat this, as it is a serious problem that greatly increasing our operating costs.

The system has never made a false positive suspension to date, so no matter how hard you find it to believe, your username and password have been “cracked” or discovered by hackers – or else, you’d not be seeing this page.

This happened because:

  • You shared your password with friends (hopefully not likely) OR
  • Hackers used software to “guess” the password (much more likely)

This did not happen because:

  • You used your account from home, work, and a friend’s house all on the same day
  • You disconnected and reconnected several times from your ISP on the same day
  • You use an ISP or connection method that utilises dynamic IPs (cable, AOL)
  • You had several browsers or browser windows open to this site at the same time
  • You used several different ISPs in the same day

These things could never cause your account to be listed as “hacked”, and we consider these legitimate usage.

What can I do about it?

Head on over to our Contact page, fill in the info, and say in the notes that you received a message that your account was hacked. We will unlock your account, and issue you with a new password. You will not be able to access the site until we have done this. We’ll always do it in under 24 hours, and often in under an hour.

As hackers will keep trying to access your account after the password reset, we recommend you also change your username. Log in to abbywinters.com, User Control Panel, Preferences, General, Change Username.

Hackers!

Hackers use software to guess your password and username combination. Hackers use lists of tens of thousands of words at this website – and many others – to try to break in. They will get many “denied” errors, but after trying millions of combinations over several hours, they will come up with a list of access info pairs (ie, a username and a password that works).

Likelihood of this is greatly increased if you use:

  • any dictionary word (in pretty much every language) (“sex”, “secret”)
  • contractions of several words (“letmein”, “goodporn”)
  • a proper noun (like “Schumacher”, or “Ajax”)
  • a common letter-number combo (like “sk8ers” or “sexy69″)
  • the same password as you did with other sites (if it was simple)

Note: It is not your machine that has been hacked, it’s mine! It was hacked because you chose a password that was too simple.

In future, for your username AND your password, please be sure to use a jumbled mixture of letters (upper and lowercase), and numbers, not a dictionary word, or a password you have used before. It says this very clearly when you are asked to enter a password when you signup. Please do not use any punctuation characters. Here’s a nifty tool which not only assesses the strength of your password, but provides cues on how you might improve it.

Once hackers have this access information, they then post it to a site dedicated to hacked passwords, so other people can use them. Our software detects lots of people using the same access pair, and suspends your account.

Password Sharing?

Please be sure to keep your access info secret, and to not share it with anyone (including friends!). You have paid for your access to this site, not everyone else’s! Ask them to sign up as well, to support the site. Please.

We are able to maintain this website, and ease of use, by having these safeguards in place. If we did not, WE would assign YOU a password and username, each ten characters long, random letters, numbers and punctuation, to gain access. Sure, then we’d have no more hacker problems, but you would be greatly inconvenienced. By letting you choose your own access info, we make it easier for you to be a member… but you have to help us a little as well!

We provide three different way to purchase the scenes we make. Each suits a different type of user, and all can be used in combination, or upgraded to  / downgraded from at any time.

  1. Full subscription
  2. Pay per scene (Wallet)
  3. Pay per scene (Direct)

Let’s look at each one in more detail.

Full subscription

Best for: Customers who know they like most of our material.

How it works: Pay a set fee each month, for access to some or all of the new material we release, plus the 22+ year archive. Paying for longer periods is cheaper. Can choose to automatically rebill (cheaper again).

Benefits: Access to the entire back catalogue and all new updates while the subscription is being paid for. Discounts provided for rebilling, longer periods, and more sub-sites. Pricing can be seen on the Join page.

Subscriptions can be selected from several sub-sites, as described in How can I join different site sections?.

You can see what’s included in each section (and, what’s included regardless of section).

Drawbacks: If you only like a few scenes each month from various sections, a Subscription is “overkill”. Pay-per-scene will likely be cheaper for you.

Upgrade-ability: It’s possible to also have a pay-per-scene account with a subscription, concurrently. For example, say you really enjoy our Solo-model shoots, so you purchase a monthly subscription to the Solo sub-site. But then you see a model you really like, who appears in some girl-girl scenes. You could purchase a Pay-per-Scene Wallet, and buy only girl-girl scenes your favourite model appears in.

Later, you decide you actually quite like our girl-girl scenes, you can add that sub-site to your subscription.

Pay Per Scene (Wallet)

Best for: Customers who know they only want certain scenes, and prefer no time-limits.

How it works: Pre-purchase a “wallet” of credit (for example $24.95), then choose spend that credit from the wallet on specific scenes you like (scenes cost between $0.99 and $8.99, with an average of $2.49).

Benefits: You can control how much you spend and when you spend it, and there’s no recurring charges (but, you can easily top up your wallet at any time). You can see an example of the scene purchase process.

Once purchased, you own that scene forever. A scene can be viewed / streamed as many time as you want, or you can download (whenever you want) the images and video files for use offline. The scenes your purchase are also stored safely by us, and are always backed up.

Drawbacks: Pay-per-Scene is perfect for casual users, but if purchasing more than 15-20 scenes a month, a subscription will work out cheaper.

Upgrade-ability: It’s possible to have concurrent PPS (Pay Per Scene) and Subscription accounts (for example, subscribe to the Girl-Girl sub-site monthly, as you know you like all of those shoots, and use PPS for other types of scenes you enjoy occasionally.

Pay Per scene (Direct)

Best for: Customers who only ever want to purchase very few scenes from us.

How it works: After creating an account, see a scene you like, and purchase it. Your credit card is billed directly for that scene’s price (for example, $5).

Benefits: Ultimate flexibility, and no up-front commitment: only pay for the precise scenes you want.

Drawbacks: Scenes are more expensive than purchasing via Pay-per-Scene (Wallet), by 20% to 50% – the price you pay for flexibility.

Upgrade-ability: Upgrade at any time to Pay-per-Scene (Wallet), and keep all previously purchased scenes. Add a subscription to a sub-site at any time.

We generally do not provide refunds. We make it clear what our site is about, with plenty of sample content for free. We ensure our service works well for everyone (so long as their software and hardware meet our generous minimum requirements), and that our site is up and running all the time.

That being said, our refund policy is simple, and applies under the following conditions:

  • If you find we have misled you in any way (for example, we promise something in our free area that does not exist in our paid area), we’ll give you a refund.
  • If your computer setup is of our minimum specs, and a significant portion does not work (you need to prove it!), we’ll give you a refund.
  • If our site is down for a significant portion of your subscription, we’ll either extend your sub for double the time the site was down for, or give you a refund.
  • If we supply something that is damaged or does not work and if you allow us reasonable time to fix the problem with your help, if we cannot fix it with you, we’ll give you a refund.
  • If you provide proof that you did not make this transaction

We do not provide refunds for change-of-mind.

A free scene token is a “voucher” for a scene of any listed price on our site, that you do not pay for right now – or possibly did not pay for at all!

Free scene tokens may have an expiry date, after which they cannot be used.

Spending free scene tokens

When purchasing a scene using our Pay Per Scene system, if you have an unexpired free-scene token, you can choose to use it instead of your PPS Credit or PPS Direct account.

ABOVE:

ABOVE: When buying a scene, if you have a free scene token, you can choose to use it or not.

There are several ways to get a free scene token.

A free gift 😃

From time to time, we give away free scene tokens, just to say thanks for being a customer! You’ll be notified in an email, and your PPS account will show a free scene token available for you to use in the next 7 days.

Upgrading to 2FA for Pay Per Scene

To encourage our customers to keep their billing details more secure, we give a free scene token the first time a Pay Per Scene customer upgrades to two-factor authentication. More info on why and how to make this change.

This free scene token is not time-limited.

Using PPS Direct system the first time

See What are the three ways to buy? for context.

When joining up with a PPS-Direct account (where we bill your card directly for the price of each scene), we charge your card US$4.49 to ensure the card details you provided work correctly (to ensure future purchases work smoothly).

When creating a PPS-D account, you have not selected a scene you want to purchase yet, so you you’re assigned a scene token, that you can choose to exchange for a scene of your choosing.

Subsequent PPS-Direct purchases will charge your card for the nominated amount.

More info on how this works exactly at our FAQ page How do I buy my first PPS-Direct scene with a token?

A reward for helpful bug reporting or assistance in organising the site better

From time to time, site admins may award Free Scene Tokens to users who are helpful in comprehensively reporting bugs or organising the site better. This is at our discretion on a case-by-case basis.

Pay per scene (PPS) is an account type where you don’t get immediate access to any shoots, but but can have permanent access to individual scenes you purchase with your pre-paid credit. More credit can be added in just a few moments.

Pay per scene incurs no automatic or ongoing costs; if you don’t actively add credit to your PPS account, you won’t be charged. In this respect, pay per scene is ideal for customers who access the site infrequently, or who only want a very specific set of content without having to pay for access to everything.

To sign-up for Pay-Per-Scene (already a subscriber)

If you are an existing subscriber to abbywinters.com, and you want to buy some scenes via our PPS system, you already have a PPS account, but its balance is $0.

Adding credit is quick and easy.

The scene is now be available on that very page, but also from your Digital Locker.

For context, see What are the three ways to buy?

Pay Per Scene Direct is a new (Jan 2017) method for buying scenes from abbywinters.com. It fills the gap between Subscription and Pay Per Scene Wallet.

Best for: Customers who only ever want to purchase a very few scenes from us.

How it works: After creating an account, see a scene you like, and purchase it. Your credit card is billed directly for that scene’s price (for example, $5).

Benefits: Ultimate flexibility, and no up-front commitment: only pay for the precise scene you want.

Playdate-ability: Pay-per-Scene (from a wallet) is required to engage models one-on-one on web-cams, but it’s simple to upgrade to that (then, all future scene purchases are much cheaper, too!). Access to Public Playdates is free, so long as at least 10 scenes have been purchased.

CVV2 is the number on the back of your credit card, usually on the signature panel. We only ever need the last three digits.

We provide two different way to purchase the scenes we make. Each suits a different type of user, and all can be used in combination, or upgraded to  / downgraded from at any time.

Subscription

Best for: Customers who know they like most of our material.

How it works: Pay a set fee each month, for access to some or all of the old and new material we release.

Benefits: Access to the entire back catalogue, and all new updates while the subscription is being paid for. Discounts provided for rebilling, longer periods, and more sub-sites. Pricing can be seen on the Join page.

Subscriptions can be selected from several sub-sites, as described in How can I join different site sections?.

You can see what’s included in each section (and, what’s included regardless of section).

Drawbacks: If you only like a few scenes each month, a Subscription is “overkill”, and Pay-per-scene might be cheaper for you.

Upgrade-ability: It’s possible to also have a pay-per-scene account with a subscription. For example, say you really enjoy our solo-model shoots, so you purchase a monthly subscription to the Solo sub-site. But then you see a model you really like, who appears in a some girl-girl scenes. So, you could purchase a Pay-per-Scene wallet, and buy only girl-girl scenes your favourite model appears in.

Later, you decide you quite like our girl-girl scenes, you can add that sub-site to your subscription.

Playdate-ability: You can participate in one-to-many web-cam sessions with a subscription, but for one-on-one time with a model, a pay-per-scene account is required. It takes less than a minute to upgrade to have one.

Pay Per Scene / Buy Credit (Wallet)

Best for: Customers who know they only want certain scenes, and prefer no time-limits.

How it works: Pre-purchase a “wallet” of credit (for example $24.95), then choose spend that credit from the wallet on specific scenes they like (scenes cost between $0.99 and $8.99, with an average of $2.49).

Benefits: You can control how much you spend and when you spend it, and there’s no recurring charges (but, you can easily top up your wallet at any time). You can see an example of a scene purchase.

Once purchased, you own that scene forever. A scene can be viewed / streamed as many time as you want, or you can download the images and video files for use offline. The scenes your purchase are stored safely by us, and are always backed up.

Drawbacks: Pay-per-Scene is perfect for casual users, but if purchasing more than 15-20 scenes a month, a subscription might work out cheaper.

Upgrade-ability: It’s possible to have concurrent PPS (Pay Per Scene) and Subscription accounts (for example, subscribe to the Girl-Girl sub-site monthly, as you know you like all of those shoots,

Playdate-ability: Pay-per-Scene (Wallet) is required to engage models one-on-one on web-cams, so they will “just work” for pay-per-scene customers.

Look in the top right hand corner of any page – we show when you are due to be rebilled, or if you don’t have rebills, when your access is due to lapse.

next_rebill

For more details, in the top right hand corner of any page, you can also go to My Account pull-down menu, choose Subscriptions . There you can see the date and amount of your next rebill.

ABOVE: This customer is due to be rebilled for all three sites on June 11, 2015 (it will be one charge on his credit card statement).

If none of this info is visible, it could be that you have a pay per scene / a la carte account (which has no rebills to cancel – you’ll only be charged again when you choose to “top up” your credit).

If you receive a notice that you have exceeded our bandwidth allowances, you have downloaded an extremely excessive amount of data from our site – way more than the entire amount content of the site, including downloading many files more than once!

We’re a small company who has to pay for your downloads, this is factored into our pricing.

We have frozen your account, so you can browse pages on the site but not download any content.

It’s unlikely you’d have a valid excuse for this, but you can contact us to discuss it if you wish. Some of the popular excuses that won’t wash are:

  • “I didn’t read the terms and conditions!”: You are required to agree to the terms and conditions before you join the site. We realise that not everyone reads the fine print, but unfortunately, it’s a fact of life.
  • “I gave my password to my buddies”: You paid for the site for you, not for your buddies. Tell them to join themselves!
  • “I installed this special program to mirror the site, but I did not know how to use it…”: We don’t need you to mirror the site, thanks all the same. You are responsible for software you install. Ignorance is not an excuse.
  • “I got a new download manager, but I did not know how to use it…”: Again, not out fault. Your computer downloaded it!
  • “It wasn’t me!”: You’re responsible for your password, which is the only way to access the site. We advise you to keep it secure. Our software does not make mistakes: we count each megabyte you downloaded.
ABOVE: What a suspension notice looks like.

ABOVE: What a suspension notice looks like. 🙁

We suspend user accounts when there are eight unsuccessful login attempts.

If this was you

If this was you trying to log in, you probably want to find your password. We also recommend copying and pasting passwords in (rather than typing them), to ensure there are no mistakes.

See below for what to do next.

If this was not you…

If you did not try and fail to log in 8 times, this will be caused by hackers trying to break into our site with your account. They know your username (attackers keep enormous lists of known usernames, millions and millions of them), and try other enormous lists of passwords against our system to try to break in.

This is usually futile, as there are so many possible combinations they use a computer program to try to log in many times, and we have the “I am not a robot” test for this very reason. But, attackers are not so smart, sometimes try it, and the result can be, a customers account gets suspended.

Another possibility is that attackers know your username and password from another site where you used the same combination, and that site got “cracked” (attackers broke in an stole a list of all usernames and passwords, guessing that some users will use the same credentials for other sites).

The net result is the same, your account is suspended.

A note on password security

For the reasons above, it’s strongly recommended to use a different password for every site you use online. Of course, that’s a real pain to remember, but there are some good free software tools to help manage this easily. We use and recommend LastPass at HQ.

Typically, accounts that have this problem have simple passwords. We strongly recommend using stronger passwords. You know the ones – upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols). DinoPass is meant for passwords for kids, but is pretty good at suggesting memorable passwords (however, security is improved if you capitalise some of the letters in the password they recommend).

What do I do now?

You can contact us and ask us to un-suspend your account, or wait 24 hours from when you first saw this message, for your account to be unlocked automatically.

If attackers have used your account, it’s likely it will become locked again and again as they keep trying to use it. In these cases, we recommend changing your username as well – we will do this for you, but if you have a strong opinion on what you want the new username to be, let us know when you contact us (but, it’s not appropriate to just add “1” to the end of it – the more different it is, the safer it is!).

DVD Orders

Of course, just go to our DVD site and follow the links.

We have an online catalogue, here, with trailers for each of the DVDs. We don’t have a printed catalogue to mail to you, sorry.

We release three or four DVD’s each month, around a third of our monthly releases, but they contain the same material as appears on our website (or a little less). So, if you’re a subscriber but not seeing our DVD’s, you’re not missing out on anything.

However, on our mini-site, dvd.abbywinters.com, you can see a lot of information about our DVD’s (again, all stuff you can see on the site itself).

We do not sell our DVD’s directly to customers ourselves, we outsource that to our friends, the excellent DVDEmpire.com.

Our DVD’s are encoded as “Region 0”, which means no regional encoding – they will play fine anywhere in the world.

Our DVD’s are in NTSC format (as opposed to PAL or SECAM). Generally, any DVD player and TV purchased since 2010 will almost definitely play NTSC DVD’s with no problem, but you should check both your TV and DVD player manuals to be sure before ordering.

Fetish Pages and Clams

Our plans for awarding clams are the following. We expect to implement these in Q3 2020.

Buying stuff

(Not yet implemented)

We award clams when you buy stuff – buy a new subscription, rebill on an existing subscription, buy a new PPS Wallet account, or top-up a PPS Wallet account.

Spending purchased credit

(Not yet implemented)

We also award clams when you spend credit you bought, for example, buying scenes on your PPS account.

Accepted fetish page nominations

(Not yet implemented)

When someone makes a Fetish Page Proposal, you can nominate media that meets their specification, in addition to what that user proposed. This helps other users visualise what the Fetish is about, meaning it’s likely to attract more clam-votes from other users – and thus, get made into an official Fetish Page.

The original Fetish Page proposer reviews your nominations for inclusions. If they are accepted, you get some clams – a small amount for each entity that you nominate that is accepted.

We acknowledge that two users can collude to earn clams – that’s fine if the material they’re gathering is relevant and valuable to the Proposal. Abuse (for example, stuffing a proposal with redundant or irrelevant content) will not be tolerated and may result in automatically awarded clams being deducted, or temporary / permanent removal from the Clams program.

Propose a new fetish page idea by clicking the green button on the Fetish Proposals page.

We check your idea to ensure it does not already exist (to reduce duplication, it’s usually better to build on an existing idea, than to make a sliiiiightly different idea), but we leave that decision up to you.

We ask you to propose some entities (Shoots, Images, Models, Video Snippets) that illustrate your proposal. More (good) examples will ensure more people vote for your idea, so don’t hold back. But, be sure to check What are some considerations to selecting media for a fetish page proposal?

It works like this:

Each month, customers are given clams to vote with (clams can also be earned).

Customers use clams to vote-up their preferred fetish page proposals. Site admins and customers can propose new fetish page ideas.

The more votes a fetish page proposal gets, the more likely it is to be created by site admins. See the current fetish proposals, organised as a leaderboard.

Cast your clam votes carefully! All for one fetish? One each for several fetishes? You decide!

Once a fetish page proposal is adopted by site admins (based on its votes) and a real fetish page is made, everyone gets their clams back to vote on other proposed fetish pages.

Clams are tokens people can spend on things on the abbywinters.com site.

We use the word “clams” because clams used to be used as commodity money in some cultures (more info), and is still used as slang for “money” today in some cultures.

How do I get clams?

On the first of each month, all users are awarded a three clams (kind of like a Universal Basic Income). In April 2020 when we launched the system, all users were awarded 10 clams.

In the future, we plan to give clams out for various actions (for example, buying a PPS scene, rebilling, attending a Private Playdate, proposing a new fetish page that other users vote on with their own clams, and similar). More info.

Unspent clams accrue over the life of your membership.

How do I spend clams?

In early 2020, the only way to spend clams is by voting on Fetish page proposals. See the current list of proposals. Learn more about making a fetish page proposal yourself.

In the future, we plan to add other ways to spend clams, including voting for models to appear in more shoots, free PPS scene tokens, weeks of free site access, and similar.

Are clams ever taken away from me?

Yes, clams disappear when your account lapses or you don’t buy any PPS scenes. Your clam balance resets to 0.

How do I know how many clams I have?

When logged in to the site, in the top right corner of any page, there’s a clam icon and a number – that’s how many clams you have to spend!

How can I see my clam spending history?

On the “Clams” tab of your My Account page (that link only works for only for logged-in users), you can see a balance and transaction history of your clams, including spends and awards.

When selecting media to support a fetish page proposal, consider how best to represent your idea.

We have four types of entities: Images, Shoots, Models, and Video Snippets.

Select the “entity type” that is specific, without being unnecessarily specific. The goal is to help other users find something they like, by directly linking to it.

A Fetish Page can contain multiple entity types, though typically one or two at most.

Entity types: Images

An image URL look like this (either of these are fine to enter on a Fetish page proposal):

https://www.abbywinters.com/nude_girls/geisha_balls/sondrine_3/images/stills/sondrine_006_3

https://hwcdn.abbywinters.com/member/Sondrine_Solo_2/sondrine_2/sondrine_2/r_sondrine006.jpg?token=2a923a8f5187c23d918de37f3742eeb6&ttl=1588292639&ip=true

Images are best when it’s one specific moment in a shoot, that generally does not apply to other moments in that shoot (or at least, this specific image represents it best, including technical considerations, model’s facial expression, lack of a distracting background).

Examples fetishes that are ideally suited to images include Feet, Full body standing nude, wet pussy, clitoris close-up. While other images in a shoot may show these attributes, only one image is going to do it best.

Example fetishes that are not suited to the Images entity type include:

  • Redhead. While an image does show a model with red hair, this attribute applies to the model as a person – she’s redheaded in all her shoots, so the entity type of Model is more suitable)
  • Outside in nature. While an individual image might be of a model outside, other people are probably interested in entire shoots that occur outside, so the entity type Shoot is more suitable.

Entity type: Shoots

A shoot URL looks like this:

https://www.abbywinters.com/nude_girls/geisha_balls/sondrine_3

A Shoot is a page on our site that links to all the media captured of a model (or several models) on a single day at a single place.

Shoots are suitable for fetishes that apply to most of both stills and video media.

Example fetishes that are ideally suited to the Shoots entity type include inserting a dildo, wearing tight jeans, girls having sex in nature. While Images and Video snippets may show these things, it will typically be many images / several video snippets, so selecting the Shoot entity is more suitable.

Example fetishes not suited to the Shoot entity type include:

  • Feet. While all models have feet, and they appear several times in every shoot, many images and most of the video will not include feet. Someone who’s interested in feet wants to go directly to media that shows feet clearly. The Image (or video snippet) entity type is more suitable.
  • Nipple slip. This is a specific event (when a nipple slips out from clothing and is visible). Sending a fan of this fetish to a whole shoot is just going to be annoying – they’ll have to look through 200-odd images and 35-odd minutes of video to find the moment they want! Instead, the Image (or Video Snippet) entity type is more suitable.

Entity type: Models

A Model URL looks like this:

https://www.abbywinters.com/nude_girl/svelte_redhead/sondrine

A Model page links to all the shoots this model appears in on our site. Model entities are suitable for attributes that apply to the model regardless of the shoot type or content or medium: it describes how she is.

Example fetishes ideally suited to the Model entity include redhead, rubenesque, enormous breasts, tiny breasts, puffy nipples, Australian. These attributes transcend finer-grained entity types like Images, Shoots or Video Snippets.

Example fetishes not suited to the Model entity type include:

  • Lesbian 69. Maybe this model appears in shoots with the 69 position, but listing a model on the “Lesbian 69” fetish page is just going to annoy other users. They would need to look through all the media of all her shoots to find the few 69 moments. This is better suited to Images and Video Snippets.
  • Menstruation. For the same reason, this is better suited to Images and Video Snippets.

Entity type: Video snippets

This entity type is not yet available. Expected release is July 2020.

When Video Snippets are released, you can specify a start and end timecode in a video (for example, “between 12m34s and 12m48s of this video“. A special URL will be provided that can be added to a proposed Fetish Page.

This is for things that are only or best shown in videos.

Example fetishes ideally suited to Video snippets include dancing, squirting, crawling nude, unbuttoning jeans, peeing.

Video snippets are intended to be short, 5 to 10 seconds maximum. Even if the action lasts longer than that, the goal is to provide a “hint” to others that around this time in the video, there is relevant material. Select the most-representative 5-to-10 second section of the video.

When a user clicks to see the snippet, they can navigate around the video to see the broader context, so that context should not be included in the Snippet.

Things that are not entities in this context

We have some Things on abbywinters.com that seem like they would be entities in this context, but are actually not!

The example links below only work for logged in customers. They will not work for a PPS user if they have not purchased that specific scene, or if the subscriber does not have access to the Solo site section.

Imageset galleries

For example. Imageset gallery pages show a “thumbnail” representing each image in a given imageset (usually several hundred). We consider that the Shoot entity can be used in any context an imageset entity could. A Shoot entity includes the video as well as still images.

Instead: Nominate an Image entity type if identifying a specific moment in the shoot, or nominate a Shoot entity type if this concept applies to the whole shoot.

Videos

For example. Video pages display a specific video, the video equivalent to an imageset gallery page. While it’s possible a video will contain material that is not shot in stills (typically, this is movement-based or conversation-based content).

Instead: Nominate a Shoot entity type, if it’s something that permeates the entire video (for example, outside in nature), or the Video snippet entity type for a specific moment (for example, a yoga move).

If you believe that these entity types should be able to be added to a fetish page, make your case to the Owner on garion.hall@abbywinters.com. 🙃

Log in to CCBill’s customer support page, and use the “change credit card” option.

abbywinters.com is one big site, but customers can choose to only pay to access a sub-set of the whole, saving them some money.

ABOVE: This user has successfully cancelled all rebills (or, joined on a non-rebilling subscription).

If you change your mind, rebills can also be “un-cancelled” (that is, you’d like to start being rebilled again).

There are various coupon codes we make available under certain circumstances. For example, when a customer has been a member, there’s a “welcome back” coupon we email them when their account lapses (returning customers are also eligible for returning customer discounts, in addition to the benefits a coupon offers). Different coupons apply for Pay-per-scene and Subscription memberships.

Coupons are entered on the first step of the Signup process.

Where to enter a coupon code

Coupon codes are entered when entering your credit card details. First, on the Join page, select your preferred subscription (the majority of coupons are for subscriptions).

ABOVE: Coupons do work with Pay Per Scene accounts as well, but most coupons are for subscriptions.

Click Buy Subscription (Subscriptions can also be customised first. More info.)

Then, you’re asked to enter your details, and lower down, you may enter a coupon code.

ABOVE: Complete all the details. (1) Expand the Coupon panel. (2) Enter the coupon code.

Press TAB to move off this field, which causes the page to “validate” the coupon code. A message is shown in green, indicating the coupon is valid, and defining the reward.

Coupons from our Business Partners (“Affiliates”)

Note that some coupons only work under certain circumstances (for example, some of our business partners offer coupons, and you must have clicked through from their site first, for the coupon to be valid). For the nerds, clicking from the Affiliate site sets a cookies with out biller (GMBill.com), so when you go to join, GMB checks for that cookie).

You can also Contact us about this – let us know what the coupon code is.

The cost of your subscription depends on what options you choose when you sign up:

The initial pay per scene / Ă  la carte costs less than most subscriptions, but the rate at which you spend it is up to you

Joining for three months costs less than joining for one month.

There is a discount for selecting automatic rebills.*

There is a Returning Member discount. (Be sure to click on the “Returning Member?” link in the top section of the Join page!)

To see what your actual cost will be, go to the Join page and play with it by selecting various options and watching the Grand total change at the bottom right of the screen. (Don’t worry, playing around with the options doesn’t commit you to anything. That only happens after you proceed to the sign-up page and enter your billing info.)

* You can cancel rebills at any time after you join.

abbywinters.com BV and our business partners websites implement best practices in security standards.

The biggest risk is a customer selecting an insecure password – we require reasonably secure passwords when joining, but they can still be cracked. We always recommend long, complicated passwords with lower and uppercase letters, numbers, punctuation, and other special characters.

Some example secure passwords (do not use these!):

xO^yxSCxYx&\Scgt
a*aV=#`:vt_erWW,
C9UMl2u=O=KR#`%"

If you’re a customer from before 2008, you’re what we consider a Legacy customer and you must leave the “YES please rebill me” box checked, otherwise the legacy rejoin coupon code (entered in the next step) won’t work.

Confirm password and add a coupon code.

ABOVE: (1) Re-enter your password – your browser might have remembered that for you (2) Click the “Have a coupon?” link (3) Enter the coupon code “mem1” (if you’re a Legacy customer, you’ll have a different coupon, see below) (4) Click “Next step”.

Selecting the right coupon code

The coupon code “mem1” gives 14 days free on the first period of your sub (for example, you subscribe for a month, you actually get six weeks of access before the next rebill).

Perhaps you have a different coupon code we supplied you (if you’re a “legacy” customer of ours from before 2008), or a coupon code from somewhere else.

You can only use one coupon code at a time, though, so choose carefully!

Enter credit card details

The next step is to enter your credit card details, and, if you bank requires it, the special VerifiedByVisa or SecureCode by Mastercard code (perhaps from your smart phone or by SMS).

Legacy re-joins

If you have been a customer before April 2008, you’re eligible for our old 2007 rates. But, you must have had a continuing subscription since then, and rejoin within seven days of your previous subscription lapsing, to retain your ‘grandfathered’ rate.

These rates are incredibly low – more than half of the current rates – and may not be able to be continued forever.

You will need to contact us to get a discount coupon to retain the old rates. We’ll always respond in one business day, check your spam folder in case our response is there.

If no one has used your username to join the site since your account lapsed, yes, you can rejoin with your same username.

To do so, you must enter it and your old password during sign-up (as in the FAQ, Returning customer discount). The Join page will provide a suggested password but you can delete that, and enter your old one (or a new one, if you prefer).

If you participate on the boards, we’ll hold your account for you (based on your username) indefinitely.

When a subscription lapses (due to rebills being cancelled, a failed credit card charge, or buying a non-rebilling subscription), that account is switched to being in the AW Club. An alert is shown when logging in to make this clear.

When in Club mode, you can log in as normal, and can access the discussion boards and images posted there, but you cannot view full-size images or download videos… unless you buy them using Pay Per Scene (See, What are the three ways to buy? for more info on that).

While it’s possible to reactivate an old account – change it from being in Club mode to full-subscription mode, some people choose to rejoin with a different username, and so may have multiple old accounts in Club mode. Either way is fine, but re-activating an old account can be less confusing in the future.

If you wish to rejoin, simply visit the Join page while logged in to your Club account – you’ll see our discounted rates for returning customers. You same username and password will be used to access the site once a successful payment has been made. More details instructions to claiming the discounts on I’m a returning customer. Can I get a discount?

Period-based subscriptions rebill at the start of the next period (for example, Monthly). Pay-Per-Scene (PPS) accounts do not rebill – you’re only charged when you explicitly ask to buy a scene (however, it is possible to have concurrent PPS and subscriptions). We have some more info on the different ways of buying our stuff.

“Rebill” means that, at the end of the period you paid for, we’ll automatically charge your credit card again for the next period. This is so you can enjoy continued access, without having to re-subscribe every month. If you don’t like this idea, look for the “no-rebill” subscriptions on the Join page, or consider a pay-per-scene account.

An example of rebilling is:

  • You join on March 17th, for $36.00 (one month’s access from March 17)
  • On April 17th, you are rebilled another $36.00, for another month’s access
  • On May 17th, another $36.00, for another month
  • And so on… until you cancel rebills

At any stage, if you want to cancel these rebills, you can. You will have access up until the next rebill date, but you won’t be rebilled – your account will just stop working instead of being rebilled.

We show how many days until your next rebill, or your lapse date in the top right corner, for example:

Almost every scene on our site has a 30-second preview video, and around 20 free images to get a sense of what they contain, so go ahead and browse.

Our Tour has some selected representative images and compilation videos of each of our main type of material.

You can see how to join different sections on the How do I join different sections? FAQ page.

Scenes available in all sub-sites

These shoot types are available when purchasing any of the three main sub-sites.

Girlfriends and their boyfriends scenes feature our models with their real-life boyfriends. One new scene a month is released, with around 300 images and 45 minutes of video.

Guest Direction scenes feature an “expert” model interacting sexually with a junior model, with fascinating results. More info.

Girl Girl fun scenes, where we organise groups of models (between 3 and 20), who get nude and do some sort of activity together. Maybe peeing on each other, taking each others clothes off, exercising, dancing, riding bikes…

Behind the scenes. Go backstage on shoots and see what happens “off camera”. See our shoot producers in action. Every so often we release imagesets of around 100 images showing behind the scenes on several shoots.

Learn how to get women. AW Ed is our project to help us all learn what makes women tick. We ask a group of models the same question, and listen to their answers. For example, What should I do when a girl catches me checking her out? or Is it cheating if I look at porn?

Solo Girls sub-site

laney107

ABOVE: Laney solo

Solo model shoots. Models mostly on their own, with occasional brief visits from friends. Some models choose to pose as nudes (think, Playboy), some are more confident (think Hustler). The more confident models sometimes masturbate and have an orgasm. A photographer / videographer is in the room with the model, they create the shoot together, but there’s no sexual contact.

Almost every shoot has stills and video material, on average 200 still images, and on average 30 minutes of video.

Each week, one new (never appeared on our site before) solo model’s shoot is released, and one “redux” shoot is released (model has at least one other shoot on our site).

Girls in lingerie at night. Between 2008 and 2011, we trialled a section called After Dark, where instead of the “dressed down” look we usually feature, our models are dressed up for a night on the town. Petria is a good example.

Video Masturbation sub-site

Models masturbating to orgasm, for video only. The camera is static (on a tripod), and only the models are in the room, so we see how they behave in their natural habitat. Some models are Alone, others are With a friend. Scenes last from 5 to 45 minutes.

Each week, one new Intimate Moment is released, alternating Alone, and With a Friend.

Girl-girl sub-site

Girl-girl hardcore. Multiple models together, most commonly two having passionate sex, shot for stills and separately for video, typically around 300 images and around 45 minutes of video.

Each week, a new Girl-girl Hardcore scene is released.

A few times a year, we shoot three models in a Girl-girl Hardcore scene.

Very occasionally (once every few years), we shoot scenes called Girl-girl Make-out, kissing only, but with between 3 and 7 models.

You can download the images and video as many times as you like, or stream the video from our servers whenever you choose. The shoot is stored in your Digital Locker forever, which looks like this:

Detailed buy-scene process

Buying a scene is a simple two-step process (similar to buying items in the iTunes store). The two steps reduce the chance of accidentally buying a scene.

buy scene step 1

ABOVE: The Buy Scene button for a scene that is not yet purchased.

Click the button once to indicate your intention to buy. The button changes from the above, to:

buy scene step 2

ABOVE: First click on the “Buy Scene” button; colour changes, and text reads, “Buy scene now”. The scene is not yet purchased!

Click the button a second time to actually purchase the scene. The computer thinks for a moment, checks your balance (if it’s too low, you’ll be asked to add more credit to your account), the page reloads, and the scene is purchased!

buy scene step 3

ABOVE: Blue “Purchased” button indicates this scene is now purchased.

The scene is now be available on that very page, but also from your Digital Locker.

You can pay by sending cash through the mail. It’s a little more hassle and a little more expensive than using a credit card, so we recommend against it if at all possible.

You can also pay using Bitcoin – see our Bitcoin FAQ.

Unfortunately, we do not offer PayPal, as PayPal offers very unfavourable terms for adult companies to use their service.

Site Guide

If you know the name of a model, simply type it in the search bar – or type just the first few letters, and after a second, a list of suggestions shows up in the drop down. Click the model name you want, and click the search icon, a magnifying glass. The results will show all the shoots that model has appeared in, and her Model Profile Page.

The Model Profile Page is a great jumping off point. If you like a model, you can see all her shoots listed here, and other things that apply to this model (for members of our old site, we did not have this page before).

Because we have a huge collection of models, shoots, images and videos, it can be hard to find what you want (sometimes, we find it hard to find what we want, and we created all these shoots!). To help you (and us), we have a tagging system.

“Tags”, are metadata (data about data) created by us, and members and models who use the site, to create a Folksonomy, a classification system developed by the people who use the system (as opposed to a taxonomy, a classification system defined by scientists that others have to follow). Anyone who uses our site can apply any tag, to any thing (models, shoots, images, videos), and the more people tag stuff, the better the site becomes for all users.

It can get a little anarchic, and sometimes, some people do dumb things with tags (don’t be one of those people – they always get bad gifts at Christmas), but most people do good things. And even average things help the system get better.

It’s good because it’s easy to tag stuff, and the tagging of stuff helps other people (for example, Google is a useful tool, because people tag their own web pages, though that’s a little different from what we’re doing here). Tags really come to the fore when you are searching (“only show me shoots where the model has big boobs”) and filtering (“of those big-boobed models, only show me the ones shot on a beach”).

To tag something, you have to be on a page that allows stuff to be tagged – that would be a Model’s Profile page, a shoot page, a video page, or an image page. Towards the bottom of the page, you’ll see the tagging bar, that looks like this for Rachel S (this is from her Solo Shoot page):

Tags1

Some of the tags refer to her body and styling. Others refer to how or where shoots she appears in occur (really, those tags should be attached to a SHOOT, not a model, but it’s not a big deal). Some tags are subjective opinions of the model. Tags applied by us are more important – because we produced the shoot and we know our website well, you can trust that if we tag a model with braces, she really does have braces (whereas, one of those dumb people, they might tag a model they wished had braces with “braces”).

If a tag is already listed and you agree with it, you can vote it up. The more votes a tag has, the higher up on the list it appears, and the more credibility it has. If 100 people vote that Rachel has braces, it’s quite likely she has them, and that lots of people think this is important, which means it’s more likely to be relevant to people who are seeing Rachel for the first time. Note that you can only vote for a tag for an entity (model, shoot, image, video), once. Votes by trusted people (for example, AW staff, or trusted members) may be worth more, 2, 10, 100, 10,000 – it depends.

You can vote for a tag in two ways:

  1. Type it in the “add a tag” popupaddatag
  2. Mouse over it in the existing tag list, and click on the green “thumps up” icon.thumbs

Tags have colours, indicating who added them:

Green: You voted this tag up, or, you added this tag

Grey: You voted this tag down

Blue: Someone other than you tagged this

Tags can also be voted down, by mousing over the tag, and clicking the red “thumbs down” icon. This takes one vote away from this tag. If a tag gets enough down votes, that tag will be removed.

You can only vote for one tag, once.

In the past…

Multi-select mode could also be used to select certain images for selectively downloading images from a shoot, but that feature was retired in November 2017 for technical reasons. These days, imageset zips are under 500Mb so are easy to download on any broadband connection. Users can choose to remove images their do not like on their local computer.

Organisational

For details about abbywinters.com see the detailed “about the site” page which includes information about pretty much everything you would want to know from the people behind the site, to the equipment and technology we use.

We’ve made a lot of images and videos over the last few decades, of thousands of models. In some ways, these shoots are very well-organised. For example, it’s super-easy to find all the shoots of a given model, or all the girl-boy shoots.

But, it’s difficult to find all the shoots of brunette models with blue eyes, or all the images of girls in dresses… unless there is a Fetish page for it (for example, girls in dresses).

So we made Fetish pages (not “whips and chains” kinda fetishes!). A Fetish page links to “entities” (models, shoots, videos, images) relevant to that fetish, we have a big list of them, check them out.

ABOVE: An example of some fetishes we index.

Faves (“favourites”) are a way to mark models, shoots, images, or videos as being a favourite of yours, so they are easy to find when you visit again.

We use the love-heart icon to indicate a fave.

Overview

We have designed our site to be easily browse-able, presenting many small images that represent models, or scenes models appear in. The intent of many pages (for example, New Releases, Models, Fetishes, Browse) is to encourage folks to click on things that interest them.

Consider them “jumping off” points.

New releases

We release new material several times every week, that we shoot ourselves. If you visit the site often, the News page is a good place to come back to, to see what’s been released recently, and what’s about to be released. Each news item on the news page links to a Shoot.

Additionally, there are jumping off points to other areas of the site – random shoots, our Picture Of the Day (from on-set of a new shoot), and other bits and bobs.

members news page

ABOVE: The members news page, captured on July 7, 2016, showing some recent updates around that date.

Shoots

A Shoot collects of all the images and video made on one day of a model (or, several models). If you see an image that represents a shoot, the shoot page is the place to see all the content we have from it.

A shoot page has a short (~30 second) promotional video to give a taste of what the video contains, and links to zip files of images.

shoot page

ABOVE: A shoot page for Alexandra’s second solo shoot. Top left, the preview video, then the stills shoot, then the Dressing Room shoot, the video, and a link to Alexandra’s Model page.

Models

Each model has their own page, that links to all the shoots she has appeared in. If you like a model, check out her model page to see all her shoots (and a list of all the other models she appears in shoots in).

model page

ABOVE: Chloe B’s Model page, linking to all the shoots she appears in (only some are shown, she’s done a lot!).

Fetishes

We know many of our customers like specific things models do, or have (rather than a specific model in particular). Loosely, we call them fetishes, and we have collected the best examples of this stuff in one easy place.

For example, feet, dirty panties, anal insertions, tanlines, panties, shaved, standing nude and dozens more.

fetishes page

ABOVE: The fetishes index page, showing some of the fetish collections.

Browse

The Browse page allow folks to search and filter content that meets their specific requirements. Here are some more tips on searching.

ABOVE: A snapshot of the Browse page, with a bunch of filters to find what you want.

Here’s our current release pattern;

  • Each week, we release;
    • 1 new Solo model shoot (stills and video)
  • Every other week, we release;
    • 1 returning Solo model shoot (stills and video)
    • 1 new Girl-Girl shoot
    • 1 One-Girl Video Masturbation video OR 1 Two-Girl Video Masturbation video
    • 1 Backstage set (~100 images)
  • Each month, we release;
    • 1 girl-boy shoot.

As we work really damn hard to make all this stuff from scratch (finding the models and working with them to make the best material we can), we get pretty annoyed when people rip our stuff off.

We have a team of lawyers* standing by to break those guys’ kneecaps (in the sending firm-letters-of-disapproval way, of course), so if you see our stuff being ripped off, we’d really like to know about it.

However. Sometimes we let other places use our material to promote our site that is sanctioned by us, so there’s not a need to notify us about those.

When to let us know

  • A whole set of images (ie, 100 plus) on websites, bitlockers, or torrent sites
  • A whole video on websites, bitlockers, or torrent sites
  • Anything on eBay (or similar) of ours, other than DVD’s we have released
  • Any image of ours that does not have our logo and copyright on it (ie, cropped)

When to let it slide

  • Any site that links to us directly, or via our billing company (www.gmbill.com)
  • individual images that are credited to us with text or our branding visible

If you’re unsure about an image, please let us know so we can check it out. And thanks for looking out for us.

*Well, ok, a guy we know called Ben. But he sure knows his stuff. So look out.

We’d love you have your application! There’s lots of info on how it works and how to apply on our site at modelfor.abbywinters.com.

If you’ve spent all your clams, you can still help your favourite Fetish Page Proposal get made by nominating media to add to the proposal.

The more media a Fetish Page Proposal has, the more clam votes it will get, and thus the sooner it will be adopted as an official page for everyone to enjoy.

Entities you nominate for addition will be assessed by the Fetish Page Proposer, so be sure to read their vision and ask any questions on the dedicated forums thread. They will be notified on-site when you have nominated some additions, and you’ll be notified in-turn when they have assessed your nominations (if they reject your nomination, they are asked to supply a reason why).

The panel for nominating entity additions appears on each Fetish Page Proposal.

We prefer not to donate to organisations who have religious or political views, but we are interested in a range of areas of charities – local, national, and international, and a range of types – environment, arts, kids, animals, medical research, and so on.

Behaviour
Be civil and considerate.

Respect our models, respect our customers, and respect our site’s reputation.

Personal Information
We don’t allow posting of personal information like phone numbers, addresses or email addresses. We don’t allow direct contact between members and models.

Report problem post
Beside every post made you will see a small 🚩button. This sends a quick note to the Moderators about that post. This is to notify us if the post has inappropriate content, or demonstrates bad behaviour.

Moderators
Moderators can edit posts without notice. Should anything inappropriate be included, or a simple coding error, these may be repaired without your being notified, though if it is a serious issue you will receive an email.

Moderators cannot affect your Boards Account. However, Administrators can. If you wish to have your username altered, or other deeper settings changed, we’ll consider your request.

Posting
You can edit your own posts up to 24 hours after the post is made. This allows you to fix errors, delete posts, or adjust unsuitable text. You do this by clicking the ‘edit’ button in the bottom of your post’s message area.

Moderators and Administrators can edit any post or thread at any time, including moving it to the appropriate forum. If you wish something to be changed in a post after the 24 hours are up, contact them to assist.

Subject Matter
Most subjects are allowed, though we prefer them to be about our site for the most part. However, we also allow a forum for completely off-topic stuff, ranging from telling us about weird things in your garden, through to writing poetry. But two subjects are always forbidden, because they just cause arguments of a heated nature:

NO POLITICS.

NO RELIGION.

That doesn’t mean you can’t “offer prayers” or refer to the Bible or something fairly benign like that. Neither does it mean you can’t mention something in the political world that is in the News at the time. But nothing partisan, or arguing your side of your religious or political persuasion. Posts will be deleted at our discretion.

There is no “freedom of speech” here – this is a private message board, and what we say goes. We allow most kinds of subject matter, but being deliberately provocative (“trolling”) is not tolerated.

Linking off-site

Linking off-site is generally acceptable, but with one main exception;

It’s not ok to link to abbywinters.com models elsewhere on the internet. For example, a Twitter feed, or the model on another adult website.

Posting pictures
You are allowed to post pictures (attachments). But there are some limits. All posts with images are pro-moderated – that means we review the image before being published. This is a requirement Visa and Mastercard place up on us. 🤬

  • Do not post pictures of people under the age of 18, regardless of how many clothes they are wearing. Any kind. Ever. For any reason.
  • Link to abbywinters.com images on the site, don’t post them.
    • Make sure the link is like this: https://www.abbywinters.com/nude_girls/toned/davina/images/stills/davina002 (this links to a page with the image embedded)
    • Not like this: https://hwcdn.abbywinters.com/38513/xl_davina002.jpg?token=28112fa21fef1d1652a9272bd7d3983a&ttl=1633814624&ip=true (this links to just the image file and will never work for others, the additional info in the link is customised to you, part of how our CDN works). If you see image URL’s like this, check your Preferences on your My Account page, Images tab, Browser image display mode panel, and choose anything other than “Just image (no frame)”.
  • Do not post images of yourself or anyone else
    • We do not have legal permission for you or those other people to be visible on our commercial site.
    • Plus, we don’t know for certain any pics truly are of you, and we cannot take that risk.
  • Do not post copyrighted images from other places
  • Do not post altered images from our site. e.g. don’t show our models doing things they did not do or saying things they did not say; don’t distort our copyrighted image in any way (except for resizing, see below); don’t remove our brand.

Some of the models we work with don’t just work for us – they may work for other sites like ours – or for themselves online.

These models often tell their fans online they have done work with abbywinters.com, which helps us find customers – so it’s only fair we return the favour, and let them find new customers from our site as well.

Models can choose to list another name they work under, and / or a link to their social media account (or similar online presence), and we’ll make these links visible to customers.

This function was released on the abbywinters.com website in Feb 2022.

If you find content that you suspect is illegal or otherwise violates the standards published by Mastercard, please report it to garion.hall@abbywinters.com.

We commit that all reported complaints will be addressed within seven business days.

To sign-up for Pay-Per-Scene (not already a subscriber)

If you’re not already a subscriber of abbywinters.com, head over to our Join options page, choose to Buy Credit (you’ll be asked for your address and credit card info to create an account).

If you are a PPS user, and click Buy now: US$2.49, the $2.49 will be deducted from your e-wallet, and you’ll gain access to all the pictures and videos from this shoot. You can download the images and video as many times as you like, or stream the video from our servers whenever you choose. The shoot is stored in your Digital Locker forever, which looks like this:

The Digital Locker page is only visible to PPS users: http://www.abbywinters.com/myaccount/locker

On each image gallery page, in the top right corner, is the “multi-select mode” tool. This lets you select many items at once, and do Stuff with them.

ABOVE: A shoot of the ravishing nurse Rachel S. Multi-Select mode has been enabled (1), and three images have been selected (2, 3, and 4). The number of images selected is shown (5), and the user can now add them to their faves (6) or tag them (7).

To turn multi-select mode on, Click the large Multi-select mode button ((1) in the image above). All images “grey out”, to indicate currently none are selected. A dashed line around all images indicates images within the dashed line are available to be selected.

Image selection can be done by clicking-and-dragging anywhere within the dashed line – selected images are shown un-greyed-out. Select individual images by holding down CTRL on keyboard (Cmd key on Macs) and clicking each image. Keep holding down CTRL to

Clicking any one image de-selects all others.

To add images to Faves

Click the love-heart icon ❤ to add selected images to your Faves list (to make them easier to find in the future). See all your faves by clicking the “My Faves” button top right of most site pages, and choosing “Images”.

To tag images

Click the Tag icon 🏷 to add keywords to the selected images – type the words and click the “Add Tag” button. To access your tagged images, click “My Account”, “My Tags”, “Images” tab, and see the tags you have added listed. Click a tag name to see all images tagged with that phrase.

We encourage customers to tag things on our site with meaningful, objective words that will help others find stuff they like.

Vote good tags up

When you see a tag that’s correct, give it a quick up-vote – the more things more people agree on, the more trustworthy that tag becomes, and thus more useful. When lots of people agree a model is a redhead, she’s more likely to be a redhead.

In your preferences, you can choose when searching to only show things that lots of people agree on. This gives more accurate search results, but usually less items in the result set as well.

ABOVE: Customers can adjust their own tag threshold for search results.

ABOVE: Customers can adjust their own tag threshold for search results.

We have a page with more tips on searching.

We also have Fetish pages, which have very high thresholds for entities, 20 or 30 votes. So that’s the guaranteed-to-be-good stuff.

Vote bad tags down

Unfortunately, in any community, there are people who deliberately try to make life less nice for others in the community. If we all help a little bit, their work is negated and becomes invisible.

For example, sometime tags a black-haired model as “redhead”. That’s going to mess the search results up, by showing black-haired models when the searcher wants a redhead model! By down-voting that tag, we work to remove that from the search results.

There is a caveat; every customer has one vote per tag, per entity (an entity is an image, a video, a model, a scene). So, if one person adds a tag to an entity, it has one vote. If someone votes that tag up (on that same entity), it then has two votes. If someone else votes that tag (on that entity) down, it’s back down to one vote. One more down vote, it’s at zero votes.

When a tag has 0 votes, it will still show to the original tagger (maybe they wanted to make a list of models they wished were redheads? Weird, but ok), but not to anyone else.

So, down-voting bad tags helps keep the community neat and useful.

Add meaningful tags

For example, if a model is a redhead, she should be tagged as such, so others can find her if they search for “redhead”. If a scene shows a model doing yoga, that scene should be tagged with “yoga”. If an image shows an anus closeup, that image should be tagged as “anus”.

We’re working on ‘gamifying’ some of this tagging, and we hope to release something with that in 2017.

Tagging video encouragement rotator

From time to time, a small popup shows on the site, playing a video of a model describing some tips for interacting with tags on our site.

tagging advice

ABOVE: Example screenshot from the rotator that appears on the site sometimes.

Users can choose to see them less often, more often, or not at all. There’s a preference on the General tab in User prefs to control this, as well.

The best place is to take a look at the solo-girl shoots. It has a lot of images, videos, and there are details on the join page describing what you get for your subscription. If you have a specific question that’s not answered there, contact our Customer Support folks.

We have several different sub-forums on our messageboards for specific kinds of chat. Most of these are straightforward and have descriptions beside them, but a couple are broader. Here are some more details.

abbywinters.com discussion is for topics specific to the site that aren’t covered elsewhere. Such as the different sections, the news page, the text, as well as more philosophical discussions on how we run the site and the principles behind what we do.

Mundane Chatter is for the truly off-topic subjects. Personal stories, jokes, weird stuff you’ve found. We’ll often put derailed threads from other forums into here when they go off into la-la-land.

The Models is where you talk about the new sets that go up, or your favourite models. Sometimes the models themselves will drop in and contribute. As each new model is added to the schedule, a dedicated thread is created, with a sample pic included. These are the threads that you see on the models’ profile pages.

The Models Speak is where the models are found most of the time. They have dedicated threads where you can interact with them, though they’re often to be found roaming around in other threads too. We encourage you to chat with them, but please respect their privacy, and be a gentleman.

The Videos is for when you have something specific to say or ask about the vids. Image quality, camera work, compression, as well as the action, events, and details in the video itself. DVDs can also be discussed here.

Tech Art is an interesting one. Discuss the equipment and art of digital photography here, as it relates to the shoots we produce.

abbywinters.com Labs is for the experimental ideas and suggestions that you may have for the future of the site. We’ll post our ideas, you post your reaction.

Good Things and Bad Things. We discuss things about the general state of Adult Sites across the internet, or the things about our site you genuinely love or definitely dislike.

Who do I contact if I need technical support?

Technical Support is for the users who are having troubles. Both staff and members can help you out here.

Our moderators keep the boards tidy, by removing posts, fixing errors, re-locating threads to their proper forums, and general maintenance.

PPS

When you join up with the Pay-Per-Scene Direct plan, you’ve chosen to buy individual scenes with your credit card from us. It’s our most-expensive way to buy, but it’s ideal if you only want a few a scenes (read about the three ways to buy – you can always change to a different account type later, with no penalty).

PPS-D join page

ABOVE: The Join page, showing the different join types, with Pay Per Scene Direct highlighted on the right. If you did not sign up with PPS-D, the info below is not for you!

When you sign up for PPS-D, we bill your card for US$4.49 in exchange for a “scene token”, that you can then use to get access to any scene on the site – some scenes cost up to $7.49 (such as our girl-boy scenes), so you may wish to extract the maximum value from that token by buying one of them first. 😉

Because you have a token, buying your first scene is very slightly different from buying scenes when you don’t have a token (we occasionally give away free tokens, but usually, your credit card will be charged for each scene you buy).

You may wish to read up on how our site is organised, to find a scene you like, but in a nutshell, check out the most recent updates, or browse the site and use filters to find scenes of the type you like.

Load a scene page by clicking on the scene’s representative image, and check out the sample images and 30-second preview trailer to see if it’s a scene you’d like to purchase with your token.

If it is, look for this section of the page:

asd

ABOVE: The part of a scene page that shows where to buy a scene using a token with Pay Per Scene Direct. This is the lovely Kate G. Here we also see the 28-second preview video, and an indication of the full 52 minute feature video that becomes available when the scene is purchased. Because this user just joined up with PPS-D, they have a scene token available and so the scene’s price shows as being one token.

Click the “Buy scene (1 token)” button, and the following screen appears:

ABOVE:

ABOVE: There’s an option to buy with a token, or to charge your card for the scene price.

While it’s likely you want to use your scene token for your first purchase, it’s not a requirement, and you may choose to pay for this one instead (perhaps saving the token for a more expensive scene). Tokens expire after seven days, so don’t wait too long.

Once you make a decision by clicking either button, our server thinks a moment, and the scene is purchased. The page reloads in a different format, giving access you to the images and video of this scene.

The scene is also added to your Digital Locker (if you’re logged in, that link will open your Digital Locker in a new tab), where all scenes you purchase are stored. You can always re-download (or stream media from) scenes you have purchased in your Digital Locker. Scenes you purchase are yours for life.

In the future, you may be awarded free scene tokens because we like the cut of your jib – you’ll get an email about that. 🙂

Buying Pay Per Scene Direct scenes day-to-day

Day to day, buying scenes you like using PPS-Direct will be similar, but you typically won’t have a scene token, so you’ll be shown the price, like this:

ABOVE:

ABOVE: Typical buying model for Pay Per Scene Direct, a forest scene with Juliana.

Click the buy button twice to confirm you want to buy this scene, enter your username, password, and answer the security question, on a screen like this:

ABOVE:

ABOVE: After clicking (1) “Buy scene direct” button twice, enter your (2) AW site username (3) AW site password, and (4) answer the security question (based on the data entered when you first joined up with GMBill). Finally (5) click “Bill my card” to initiate the transaction.

Click “Bill my card for $4.49 (or whatever the scene price is), then, your card will be billed for the indicated amount.

Once the purchase is finalised – should take under 15 seconds – you’ll have access to all the media from this scene, just as occurred when using a scene token!

When trying to top up your Pay Per Scene wallet (or, buy a scene using your PPS-Direct account), you’re asked verify it’s really you. The normal process works like this.

To verify your identity, you’ll be asked either:

  1. GMB Security question: A billing detail from when you first joined up (not recommended)
  2. 2FA: A One-Time Password from an app on your smartphone (this is called Second-Factor Authentication) (recommended)

By default, all accounts are set to the GMB Security question. This is a setting in your Preferences, see screenshot below.

ABOVE:

ABOVE: How to change the security method. (1) and (2) be on your Preferences page (3) Select the Pay Per Scene tab (4) Set an option. More info.

GMB Security question, answered two questions wrong in a row?

If you get two of these security questions in a row incorrect, the system locks your account from adding more credit to your wallet. The system assumes – to be safe – that it’s not really you trying to add credit (perhaps some has guessed your password, and is trying to bill your card for their own desires?).

We need you to re-verify who you are, by re-entering your credit card details on the secure site GMBill.com, our billing company.

ABOVE:

ABOVE: The alert shown when two security questions have been answered incorrectly.

You need to do this even though your credit card is likely not expired or otherwise faulty – it’s just to prove who you are, and re-set the blocking on the PPS credit topup. We apologise for the frustration, but we’re working hard to keep your personal information secure.

This FAQ answer shows how to re-enter your credit card info at GMBill.com, or you can just do it – it’s not hard (you’ll need your abbywinters.com username and password to log in at GMBill.com). You need to re-enter any details that show x’s (eg, Card number, CVV2, Expiry). You may choose to use a different credit card if you wish, but that’s not required.

Once your credit card details have been re-entered, you can switch back to abbywinters.com, and try again to top up your PPS credit account (the two-questions-wrong counter is reset to 0 when credit card details are re-added).

What if I keep getting the questions wrong?

If you get the questions wrong, you’ll have to repeat the process again! You can always contact us with what you think the correct answers to the questions are – it’s possible there was a typo when you originally entered the data, and if you do not replicate that typo, you’ll not be able to prove you are you! We can help with that (but, we cannot just tell you what the data is – what if someone has access to your emails?).

Let us know what you think the correct answers to the questions are.

We recommend switching to One-Time Passwords – it’s secure, easy and reliable.

    Overview

Some abbywinters.com accounts require you to manually ask us to charge your credit card:

    • To top-up your Pay-Per-Scene Wallet (PPS-W) account
    • To buy a scene using PPS Direct (PPS-D)
    • To pay for Private Playdate time

Beyond the typical username-and-password, we provide two ways to verify it’s really you making this purchase.

    Security methods

    We have other several security measures to reduce the chance of this happening, but it can still occur (see our FAQ on How did my account get hacked?). For example;

If someone got access to your abbywinters.com account, they cannot do any damage to you directly, but they can download shoots you have bought.

If you have PPS-Wallet credit in your account, they can spend down that credit – meaning you miss out on spending that credit on scenes or Playdates you like!

Thus, a secure password is important, a password that you do not use on other sites is always best (you should never use the same password more than once!). Using 1Password or LastPass (free password managers) is strongly recommended, so you never need to remember complicated passwords.

Beyond a username and password, we also have an additional security requirement for PPS accounts called Second Factor Authentication (abbreviated as “2FA”).

A username and password is considered one factor authentication. Generally considered to be poor security, though convenient and well-established online. We want to take fewer risks with your money (while still being practical), so we require an additional “factor” to prove it’s really you.

You might already use two-factor authentication for online banking – you’re sent an SMS code to enter when logging in? Or when you log on to Facebook from a different computer, or when you forget your password for your Gmail account…

Those are examples of second factors of authentication (the first factor is the username/password, or equivalent). Here’s a good blog post about 2FA for non-technical people.

We offer two options for two-factor authentication (2FA) for Pay Per Scene accounts:

    1. GMBill security question (not recommended 😦)
    2. One Time Passwords (OTP) (recommended 🙂)

GMBill security questions (default; not recommended 😦)

This process asks for your username and password (the first factor), and a piece of data from your account when you first registered it with our biller GMB (the second factor). Some example second-factor questions might be:

    • When does your credit card expire? (MM/YYYY)
    • What are the last four digits on your credit card?
    • What is your email address?

This is better than just the single factor of username-and-password, but not as good as our other method, a One Time Password second factor.

It works well in principle, but what if you forget which credit card you used? Contacting Customer Support will always resolve this, but if you get two questions wrong in a row, you will need to re-add your credit card details at GMB, to verify it’s really you (here’s how to do that).

Overall, the GMB security questions work, but it can be frustrating and is not as secure as we would like.

    One Time Passwords (Recommended! 🙂)

For each purchase or top-up, you’re asked to enter a one-time password  – a six digit number – from an app on your smartphone or computer, as the second factor of authentication.

ABOVE: A screenshot of the Google Authenticator smartphone app. This user has two accounts registered for 2FA – the blurred out bits are the names of the websites. The six-digit numbers are the “one time passwords” that expire in 30 seconds (to be replaced by new one time passwords). The blue wedges indicate how much time is left before the one time passwords expire – about 6 seconds in this case.

Read more about One Time Passwords on Wikipedia.

    Choosing a One-Time Password app

abbywinters.com does not make One-Time Password (OTP) apps – they are common tools in the computer industry. We do not get any kickbacks by recommending the specific apps we recommend. These OTP apps are all free, secure, simple, and work reliably on iPhone and Android. OTP apps can be on your computer, or on your smart phone.

The name of our site does not need to mentioned (by default it’s listed as “AW PPS”, you can edit this).

Google Authenticator: Simple and easy. This is what we use at abbywinters.com HQ. Recommended. Only for smartphones (Apple iOS and Android).

On Google Play store | On iOS Apple store

Authy: More powerful and still easy. Also works on Windows PC’s and MacOS, download from Authy.

On Google Play store | On iOS Apple store

    Other suitable smartphone apps include;

Yubico make a physical USB key that does the same thing, widely considered to be the most secure approach to 2FA (works, but probably overkill for us).

WinAuth is an application for your Windows computer, and Authy can be used on MacOS.

Switching to use One Time Passwords (OTP) on abbywinters.com

All accounts use GMBill security questions by default when they are created, and need to be manually switched to use the more-secure One-Time-Password (OTP) method instead. Takes less than five minutes to get that set up:

    1. Choose a 2FA application
      1. See “Choosing a One-Time Password app” above
      2. Get it installed and set up
    2. Visit your Preferences page  on abbywinters.com
      1. That link will work if you are logged in
    3. On the Pay Per Scene tab, PPS Wallet top up and PPS Direct scene purchase security panel, select the option 2-Factor Authentication.
    4. Re-add your credit card details in GMBill
      1. Follow the supplied instructions
      2. Check the How can I update my credit card? FAQ page on GMB’s site for more detailed instructions
    5. Add AW PPS as an authentication source
      1. We’ll assume you’re using a smartphone app; apps on your computer are similar, but slightly different
      2. A QR code (a white square with small black squares inside, more info) appears on screen – see example below.
      3. In the OTP app on your smartphone, add a new site (plus button)
      4. Select “Scan a barcode”. The smartphone’s camera activates.
      5. Align the QR code on screen in the viewfinder of your smartphone. Should only take a second to be recognised.
      6. abbywinters.com is added to your OTP app as “AW PPS (username)”. You can rename this if you wish – long-press to edit.
      7. A six digit number is shown for 30 seconds, then is replaced with a new six-digit number. This happens forever – these are the one time passwords.
    6. As prompted, enter the current one time password (six digit code)
      1. As currently shown in your OTP app
    7. The page on abbywinters.com shows a “Success!” message
      1. Second-factor One Time Passwords are now set up!

ABOVE: An example of the QR shown at step 3 of the 2FA setup. Your QR code will look different to this.

    What now?

When you go to make a charge to your credit card (ie, top-up your Pay Per Scene Wallet) from now on, you’ll be asked for the six-digit number shown in your OTP app (which changes every 30 seconds).

Your OTP app keeps this in sync with our servers, so only someone with access to your phone and your username & password can make a charge to your card (hopefully, that’s only ever you!).

You’ll need to enter the one-time password for each charge we make to your credit card.

To change back to the less-secure GMB Security questions 😦

This is not recommended, because the GMB Security Questions are less-secure than the One Time Password method.

To change back to the GMB security Questions, visit your Preferences page (that link will work if you are logged in), Pay Per Scene tab, and choose from the two options, GMBill security questions (instead of OTP).

Simply select GMBill security questions, and from then on you’ll be asked the security questions instead of the second-factor authentication number – however, again, this is not recommended!).

We currently offer a free scene token to encourage you to make this switch, but we may not do that forever. While it might seem like you can get unlimited scene tokens for switch back and forth, we’ve already thought of that, sorry. 🤯

As soon as you buy a scene, as you are on the scene page, you can immediately view the images and video for that scene.

However, the scene is is also stored in your Digital Locker, securely, forever.  You can come back and view the scene as many times as you want (stream video from our site, or download video, and images).

Your Digital Locker is linked on every page on the site – click on your username in the top right corner, and select “Digital locker”.

    Technical

Absolutely, we encourage and support the use of Download Managers!

Download managers (DLM’s) are useful in many situations:

    • If you are having problems maintaining extended downloads, getting partial files downloaded instead of whole ones
    • If you are on a slow connection like dial-up
    • If you want to queue our larger files to download overnight while you sleep or are at work
    • If you want to concurrently download several files at once

These are applications that provide a feature called Keep-Alive, which should maintain an open connection and continuous download that overrides any unexpected interruption, and also can resume interrupted downloads should you be disconnected midway through.

When you set up your DLM, please note these points:

    • First, you must log into the site and check the “Remember me” box – without this, the required cookie will not be set.
    • Your download manager need to be configured to accept cookies from your default web browser (they may do this by default)
    • Your web browser may need to be set to explicitly allow cookies from us
    • Links to media files are temporary, lasting only 24 hours. If your DLM tries to download a file using a link generated more than 24 hours ago, it will fail.

    Recommended Download Managers For PCs

If you’re willing to put up with reminders to buy it, Get Right is free. It’s one of the older more established download managers out there, and works for our site as long as you have cookies enabled. You should be able to use any browser with it.

Firefox has an awesome addon download manager called DownThemAll. Free, simple to install, effective.

Lightning Download Shareware (after 30 days some features are disabled) but inexpensive anyway, Lightning Download seems to work well as long as you have installed a cookie via IE and then set the app to allow cookies.

    Recommended Download Managers For Macs

Download Deputy, Speed Download & igetter are not bad, apparently, and each seem to be pretty similar to each other. They all have many useful features and attractive logical interfaces.

    Recommended Download Managers For Linux

In Ubuntu 11.10, for firefox the, combination of the
flashgot plugin and the external download manager uGet works very well.

Wget (Linux) (http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/wget.html) The following, simple option for the Linux/Unix wget command will allow the download of files.

wget –header “Cookie: user=[value]” [file_to_download] Replace the [value] with the cookie value for user, which you can find with your browser’s cookie manager. Of course, replace [file_to_download] with the zip file or video you want to download.

It will also work if you tell it to load your Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox cookie file (cookies.txt).

We hope you’ll share your subscription with your life partner. We have a lot of feedback from members who have done this, and found it to be a great experience. Many people – especially women – once viewing our site, are pleased to see that erotica can be produced with respect and empowerment. But at the same time, we know that some partners are just not accepting of viewing erotica.

Some of our customers want to keep their surfing of our site confidential. There are a number of techniques you can use to do this, depending on the level of privacy required, money available, and technical expertise. Our ideas are listed in rough “easiness” order, easiest first. You can always find out more about these methods by doing Google searches – this is a basic list to give you some ideas of the possibilities.

Warning: many of these methods will not provide confidentiality from children (who tend to know a lot more about computers!) or legal authorities. If viewing our site is not legal in your jurisdiction, you’re on your own! You can read up on the legal standards we meet.  Also, most of these methods work for any adult site or media content, not just ours.

We request you do not make our site available to children of any age, but it is beyond the scope of this FAQ to provide details on how to do this. One good place for help is at http://www.netsmartz.org/InternetSafety.

Pay by cash, instead of credit card

Paying by cash ensures there are no “mysterious” billings to your credit card. However, if you do pay by credit card, your statement will show “GMBILL.COM AMS AW”, or “CCBILL.COM”. More info on our pay-by-mail page.

    Do not bookmark our site

Bookmarking our site leaves a clear and obvious link to us from your computer. You could either not bookmark the site at all (make sure you remember our name – you can always google it!).

We encourage everyone to use the separate user function of modern browsers (for example, you log in to your browser account and use it, your wife has her own browser account). This means, your bookmarks (and history, and preferences and cookies, etc) are kept separate from the other person.

Use Chrome web browser, and log in / log out

Recent additions to the excellent Chrome web browser mean that users can log in to the browser, and see all their bookmarks, saved passwords, and so on. When you log out, all the history, bookmarks, cookies, everything “disappears” – securely backed up on Google’s servers, ready for when you next log in to the browser, on any computer.

    Clear history

Clearing the “history” when you browse abbywinters.com means the next person who uses the computer cannot see where you have been on the Internet. The browser history can go back many months, and is searchable in most web browsers. Most browsers have a “History” menu, with history options there, or on the web browser’s options page.

If you cannot work it out, do a google search for your browser name and version and “clear history”, like this (note that the version of your browser can affect the instructions):

    internet explorer 10 clear history

You can set some browsers to never record your browsing history, or to go
into “stealth mode” (sometimes called “incognito mode”) for particular sites or periods, where no history is recorded. We use and recommend the excellent Chrome web browser, which provides this and many other features.

Don’t save your username and password

Most web browsers, and our web site, offer to remember your username and password, to make it easy for you to log in each time you visit. If you use those tools, you may leave signs of visiting our site. Select “no” when asked by your browser to save your login info.

    Delete Cookies

We also provide tools to keep your info each time you visit (review our privacy policy for details on specifics). To remove that from your computer, you must delete abbywinters.com cookies. Cookies help you in a lot of ways, and you will find changes you make on the site – some preferences – will be forgotten if you remove our cookies. However, cookies can also lead a snoop to us. You can set your browser to never accept
cookies from our site. This can be set in the “options” part of your browser, though that will make the site more cumbersome to use.

If you cannot work it out, do a Google search for your browser name and version and “clearing cookies”, like this:

    internet explorer 10 clearing cookies

    Don’t download, only stream online

If you download and save files to your computer, there will be content on your computer which could easily lead someone to our site – all our images and video have our name on them, for example. You can view our images and video (as streaming, like YouTube) online-only, and make lists and groups of your favourite stuff. That means that you have to be online to view our stuff, and that you may see reduced quality compared to  downloading, but the privacy may be worth it, and the quality-hit is not too bad (depending on the speed of your internet connection).

Create a separate user account on your computer, that only you use

It’s possible to create a separate user account on all modern computers. Your partner logs in on her account, and you log in on yours. The web browser settings will be yours alone (e.g., history, cookies), but any files stored on your computer will still be visible, so some of the methods we describe below should still be used.

This does involve some messing around with computer settings, and is particularly difficult in some operating systems, if you do not know how. Google is your friend.

    SHIFT-delete media

If you do download media, after you have watched it out, you can delete it. Deleting, on most computers, puts the media in a “list of things to delete one day” place, and does not actually remove it from your computer. This is useful if you delete something accidentally, and want to get it back – look in your “Recycle bin” or “Trash can” on the desktop of your computer.

However, you can force a complete deletion (bypassing the trash can / recycle bin), by selecting the files, holding down a SHIFT key on your keyboard, then tapping DELETE. Double check by opening the recycle bin, and ensuring the files are not there. If they are, you can select them and tap the DELETE key again, and they will be gone for good.

Note that SHIFT-delete does not make the files impossible to get back – anyone with moderate computer skills (say, a child 12 or older), and an inquisitive mind, will be able to get the files back, if they know they exist. SHIFT-delete protects you from casual browsing of your computer.

If using a Mac, the equivalent is command-shift-delete.

Store downloaded media in a hidden directory

You can store media you download from us in a hidden directory (or, “folder”). Make a new folder somewhere (the less obvious place you store this folder, the safer it is), move media into it, then right click on the folder, select Properties, and check the “hidden” box, then click OK. The folder will disappear – but it’s still there.

To get it back, in Explorer, go to Tools, Folder options, view tab, select “show hidden files and folders”. Anyone can do this, of course, so placing the folder in an out-of-the-way place initially helps. Don’t forget to set this same setting back to “do not show hidden files and folders” when you are done!

Also, don’t forget where you put your special folder – that would be very disappointing!

Store downloaded media in an encrypted partition

There are many programs around that can make an encrypted “partition” of your hard drive. You select the capacity of this partition, and it makes it super-secure (even the CIA would take years to crack it, for example). This is extremely secure, but the presence of the program on your computer may raise questions itself. These programs sometimes have a “stealth mode” to fix this.

There is a minor speed-decrease when using encrypted partitions, but if your computer is reasonably new, this will not be noticeable. The more secure the encryption you use, the bigger the speed decrease.

We recommend TrueCrypt, free and effective. Don’t forget your password – you’ll lose access to your files forever!

View the site on a computer only you use

Buy a brand new computer for your partner, and use your old one “just for tinkering”. Put a password on the BIOS, so only people who know the password can do anything. Lock the computer’s screen, so a password is required before it can be used. Do a google search on “setting BIOS password”.

Download material, store and view it offline

You can download material from our site, then store it offline. This might be on USB sticks – you can get 128Gb ones now, which is a heck of a lot of AW content! – or USB hard drives, which can be 500Gb, run from your USB port, and cost around US$80. Storing this drive somewhere safe is easy and discreet and portable.

Run your whole OS on a USB drive

It’s possible to boot an operating system from a USB flash drive as well. You use this OS for your personal browsing, and everyone else who uses the computer uses the computer’s installed operating system. It can be a fun project (and is very useful if travelling), but requires significant computer skills. Google is your friend!

Sometimes, for some customers pages load on our site with no images visible, like this:

ABOVE: An example of part of a page with no images. :(

ABOVE: An example of part of a page with no images. 🙁

This may be caused by an issue at your ISP, and we can help advise you on how to get that fixed.

There are two things we need to start fixing it:

    1. A traceroute to hw01.abbywinters.com – send this to us
    2. A description of what happens when you load this link

You can learn how to make a traceroute on another FAQ page here on our site.

After waiting for his ISP to resolve the issue, one customer reported:

Meanwhile I installed the newest Opera browser with VPN function and enjoy your site without any problems.:) Opera automatically selects my IP address location (Europe, US etc.) in order to optimize performance for each internet resource I use. I can also select my virtual location manually. It works really great! And unlike other VPN services it’s absolutely free of charge. Now AW works even faster than before! No hassle at all. 🙂

    Overview

Download speed on the internet is a complex matter, so we have prepared some info to help understand the factors involved. This article is long and detailed, but there is a lot of ground to cover (if you’re not a network engineering geek, don’t ignore this! We’ve written it with regular internet users in mind!).

If you’re finding our site slow, it’s possible there is an issue on our end, but this is unlikely. When there is a problem at our end, we’ll mention it on our Twitter feed (@abbywinters).

Much more likely, is that there is an internet routing issue between you and us. If AW support staff have directed you to this page, this will be the reason.

    abbywinters.com servers

Because we’re a big site, we have a “cluster” of servers that host our site. Our servers are located in North Virginia (on AWS, Amazon Web Services), directly connected to several major internet backbones.

Like all media-based websites, we use a CDN (Content Delivery Network) to distribute media files to customers. These services store a selection of our most frequently accessed files at dozens of locations around the world – the closer data is to you, the faster you get it.

    CDN delays

This means that popular files are more likely to work well. Older, less-often-accessed files will not be on CDN’s, and so need to be pulled from our server to the CDN. This takes just a few seconds extra (for example, you visit a video page, press Play. Instead of playback starting in 1-2 seconds, it might be 5-9 seconds).

While you’re steaming a scene being pulled from our servers, you may see start-stop behaviour, and be unable to jump ahead (because that video file is not yet completely on your nearest CDN location). Watching at normal speed is typically better (ie, without jumping forwards). Alternately, reload the page, and try to stream again, and it will typically work better (because the file will have finished copying to a CDN node close to you).

    Hackers

On rare occasions, hackers use a network of thousands of “zombie” computers whose power they steal using trojan code (commonly called a “malware”) attack us. The owners of these computers may never know it’s happening. These are called DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks – the hackers are denying paying customers from using our service.

With improved server and security technology these attacks have become less frequent than they were in the 2000 and early 2010’s (now, just a few times a year), but when they do occur, they’re beyond our control. In fact, they are beyond any one person’s or company’s control. Large companies like banks and Facebook and Twitter have to deal with these more often than we do.

Should one of these attacks occur, you may find the site slow to browse, and may see error messages. Our web hosting company works to deny access to those computers doing their nefarious work, and service returns to normal in a few hours.

    Defining “slow”

There are two aspects to slow:

    1. Browsing speed (latency)
    2. Raw download speed (throughput)

If there’s a problem, it’s typically one or the other (though, satellite internet connections usually suffer from both).

    Browsing speed (“latency”)

In lay terms, latency is how fast your computer and our server can talk – how long it takes for you to browse from one page to another on our site, or how fast a page of thumbnails takes to download.

As a rough guide, on a regular broadband connection, you should see at least several dozen thumbnails per second appear on a page (more commonly, 100 thumbnails in under two seconds). As a web page consists of many small elements, “latency” becomes an issue. A low latency connection will appear to “browse fast” to you. As an example, the website of your ISP would usually browse fast – because you’re directly connected to them, you’ll have low latency.

Higher latency connections will usually be further away from the host (for example, accessing our site from Australia, with the servers in the US), and go through more “hops”. That being said, our site browses fine from Australia… it’s just faster in the Atlantic NorthEast of the US.

    Hops?

A hop is a node (a computer of some kind) on the internet path that the data between you and us travels. There may be as few as five hops between you and our servers, or as many as 40, but between 15 and 30 is most common. More hops can mean higher latency (slower browsing).

    Raw download speed (“throughput”)

This is how fast you can download a single large file, say, a 40Mb zip or 500Mb video. Your web browser probably displays this figure as it downloads, measured in kilobytes per second, but it might be hidden a little.

ABOVE: This screenshot from the Chrome browser, in the Downloads window (CTRL-J, CMD-J on Mac). The speed here is 1135Kb/second – very good. Same for Firefox. Safari, “Show downloads” button top right of browser.

A typical broadband user should be able to get 250 to 400 Kb/sec from us. Our servers support a much higher load – some people get up to 30,000 Kb/sec (!) but that’s due to their own faster internet connections (for example, fibre).

    Other downloads

Both “latency” and “throughput” are affected by other activity your internet connection is undergoing. If you’re actively downloading stuff from other sites (or browsing lots of web pages, sharing torrents, your virus program or operating system is updating itself, etc), our site may appear slow, because it’s sharing your connection with the other streams of data. To assess our site specifically, please ensure you are only downloading from us.

If you use filesharing software like BitTorrent, please make sure these programs do not use more than 80% of your upload speed, or your browser will have a hard time requesting files from us – if your software does not have the ability to limit bandwidth usage, install software that does.

    Timeframe

We need to establish if your download speed problems happen:

    • All the time
    • Just right now
    • Since x

We know that download troubles are frustrating, that you want someone to blame, and you have emailed us as soon as you have a problem with the service you’re paying for… but it’s probably not our fault!

The internet is an extremely complex system, but it works well most of the time. Sometimes, parts of it break, so the stream of data has to be routed through a different, less efficient path. This can mean a system that usually does not handle much traffic suddenly finds itself inundated, and struggles to keep up. The path your data takes may go through anywhere from 10 to 40 computers (“hops”), so there is plenty of room for things to break.

Luckily, problems are often fixed quickly – sometimes you might not even notice, other times, it might be slow for a few hours, then right itself. It might be days, it could even be months; it’s usually a matter of hours.

    Comparing us to other sites

If you say that our site is slow, but “all” other sites you try are fast, that’s a useful test, but not the end of the story. It means that there is not a problem with your connection to the internet, which is good to know.

But, say your path to us is 30 hops (the stream of data passes through 30 separate computers to reach us, 30 is a realistic number). The first 10 hops are from your computer, your ISP, your ISP’s head office, your ISP’s supplier, your country’s backbone supplier (and a few other machines in the middle). After that, the stream of data could go in one route to google.com, but a totally different route to abbywinters.com. Just because Google is fast, does not mean there is a problem at our end – there are 20 other computers that could be causing the problem!

Troubleshooting: Try using a different network

The best way to identify your slow speed issue is to try using a different network (that is, a different ISP, or at least, connection method). Some examples include:

    • Visit a friend and try doing the same thing on their computer (or, bring your laptop). How is it different? (we recommend using an incognito browser, and emailing yourself a link to a video page to use).
    • Create an internet hotspot on your phone and connect your device by wifi (only relevant if it’s a 4G connection). How is it different?
    • Just browse the site on your 4G phone (not connected to wifi), and go to download a video (no need to download the whole thing). How is it different?

Solution: Consider using a download manager

If you’re on a low-bandwidth connection (that is, our site and perhaps others are never fast for you), a download manager can help.

Browser-based download managers can considerably increase effective download speeds, by downloading a file in multiple parallel segments. If your max download rate is 800kb/s and if your internet connection supports higher throughput, you can download with 4 parallel threads giving an effective 3.2Mbps download rate (4 x 800kb/s). Download Them All is one such plugin for Firefox, and Turbo Download Manager for Chrome.

You can use it for usernames and passwords especially, as they are sensitive to upper-case and lower-case, but it’s also really useful for website addresses (say, to email a web page address to someone – these are often extremely long and complicated, and getting them a little wrong will mean they will not work) and many other things.

Ok, so to do it, it depends if you’re using Mac or Windows. We’ll use the example of a username and password for this site. If this is totally new to you, you might want to print this page out, as it can be confusing to juggle several windows at once.

It looks complicated, but it’s easy (we have included some tips, and a lot of detail so you cannot make a mistake. In a nutshell, you’re going to copy the username, switch to the website’s page, paste in the username, then repeat for the password. Once you know how to do it, it’ll take less than three seconds!

For Windows: (for Mac, see below)

      1. Open the email that has your username and password information in it.
      2. Open a web browser and get to a page where you need to enter your username and password (http://www.abbywinters.com/members – Right click on that and choose “open in new window”)
      3. Go back to your email, and find where it says your username.
      4. With the mouse, click and drag from JUST to the left of the first letter, to JUST to the right of the last letter. The letters will “highlight” in an opposite colour – if you have black text on a white background, the text will turn white and the background black, just for the word you have selected. TIP: be careful not to select a space or tab or anything like that – it won’t work if you do.
      5. While the word is still highlighted, go to the EDIT menu on the same window, and choose “COPY”. This will copy the text to the computer’s memory. Now it’s there, you can do stuff with it!
      6. Go back to the web browser, by looking at the task bar at the bottom of your screen, and clicking on the thing for Internet Explorer (or perhaps you use Netscape, or Firefox?). The window should pop up, with our news page, and in the top right hand corner, the orange box asking for your username and password.
      7. Click in the white username field, so you have a flashing cursor.
      8. Go to the EDIT menu of your web browser, and choose PASTE. Your username should pop up there. It will stay there while you do the next steps. We’re halfway done!
      9. Go back to your email, and find where it says your password.
      10. With the mouse, select the word by dragging from first letter to the last letter. Again, the letters will “highlight”
      11. Go to the EDIT menu on the same window, and choose “COPY”.
      12. Go back to the web browser with the news page of abbywinters.com
      13. Click in the password field to get a flashing cursor
      14. EDIT menu, choose PASTE. Your password will pop up there, but it will show up as black dots (or maybe asterisks). This is for security.
      15. Enter the security code (upper or lowercase, it does not matter) as it is in the graphic.
      16. Check the “remember me” box, so you won’t have to go through all this again on this computer.
      17. Click the login button – you’re in! If it does not work, most likely, you copied a “space” character. Go to step 3 and try again.

More Tips to make it easier and faster:

      • In most cases, you can just double click on the username or password to select just it (make sure your computer has not selected a space as well!).
      • If you have a cursor in your email (you probably will), you can click near the word, use the cursor UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT keys to get to the left of the first letter, hold down SHIFT, and tap the cursor RIGHT key. This will select the word letter by letter – a very accurate way of selecting text.
      • Once you have selected a word, you can RIGHT CLICK your mouse near it, and choose COPY from the pop-up menu. You can paste in the same way – RIGHT-CLICK on the field on the web page, and choose PASTE.
      • You can do it EVEN QUICKER, after selecting a word, hold down the CONTROL (might be called CTRL) key on your keyboard, and tap the C key. This is the “shortcut” for COPY. You can use CTRL-V (hold down CTRL, tap V, let CTRL go) to paste. This is what the pros do! See how close C, V and CTRL are to each other? The idea is, you can do this all with your left hand, while your right hand is on the mouse.
      • Still want more? Instead of using the task bar to switch between applications, hold down the ALT key, and tap the TAB key (if you keep holding down TAB, you can see all the applications you have open right now; each time you tap TAB, you’ll move to the next application. Let go of ALT to select the application you want. The last application you used will always be second, so you can be sneaky and do this:
        • Select the username with a double click (right hand)
        • Press CTRL C to copy (left hand)
        • Press ALT TAB once
        • Use the mouse to click on the username field on the webpage (right hand)
        • Press CTRL V to paste (left hand)
        • Press ALT TAB once to get back to your email (left hand)
        • Double-click on the password (right hand)
        • Press CTRL C to copy (left hand)
        • Press ALT TAB once
        • Use the mouse to click on the password field on the webpage (right hand)
        • Press CTRL V to paste (left hand)
      • For Mac
Open the email that has your username and password information in it.

Ok, this is getting silly now. Go look at some pics and vids!

A trace route is a command run on your computer that sends a small file to an internet server that you specify. It shows the path that file takes, the names of each computer it touches, and the time it takes from each computer to the next one. It’s an extremely useful  anaytic tool to find problems between your computer and a place on the internet (more info).

ABOVE: An example of the file that you’ll send to us – this is what a “traceroute” looks like.

      For Microsoft Windows

For Windows (any version), you’ll be opening a “old school” DOS prompt, typing in some commands, the result will be written to a file, and you’ll send the file to us (you can look at the file to see what’s in it, too).

You may wish to print this instructions page, so you do not have to keep swapping windows around.

      Open a DOS command prompt

START menu, Run…, type “cmd” without the quotes (or “command” if you’re using anything older than Windows 7). A black window will open up with a flashing cursor. Very 1991, eh? 🙂

ABOVE: The black window opens, called a command prompt, where we can give instructions directly to the computer.

If you see the Access denied error message, it’s because Administrator access is required. After writing “cmd”, instead of hitting ENTER (or clicking “run”), instead press CTRL-SHIFT+ENTER. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, click Continue. You should see the black window now?

      Enter the traceroute command

Enter the following command. It has to be exact, letter for letter, space for space.

It’s best to copy-and-paste, but to paste into the DOS command line window, use ctrl-INS (ctrl-v will not work).

      tracert -d -w 1 cdn.abbywinters.com > c:\abbytracecdn.txt

Press the ENTER key. Not much appears to happen (we’re sending the output of the command to a file, so it’s easy to send to us, but that means the output is not displayed on screen). After a 30 to 60 seconds, you’ll go back to the DOS prompt with a flashing cursor.

ABOVE: The command has been pasted in to the command line, and enter was pressed. It takes about 30 secondws for the command to run. We know it worked, because there are no errors, and the system is ready for the next command.

If you see an “Access denied” error message, type “exit” to close the command prompt, and use the technique described above in “If you see the Access denied error message…”.

      Close the command prompt window

You’re done here! Type “exit”, press ENTER, the black screen will go away.

      Review the file

Let’s check the file actually has useful info in it!

      1. Open Explorer (Windows-e)
      2. Click on Local disk (C:) Drive in the left panel
      3. Look for this file, created in a previous step; abbytracecdn.txt
        1. See screenshot below for an example
      4. Double click on the file, it will open in Notepad (a text editor)
      5. Keep the file open for the next step.

In the file, you’ll see a bunch of web addresses and numbers and stuff in it (see image at the top of this page, but yours will have different numbers).

ABOVE: Locating traceroute the file created (1) Select the C: drive (2) the abbytracecdn.txt file. Double click to open.

Send us the info in the file

      We need to see what’s in the file, to help us diagnose the problem. We’ll copy the text from the traceroute, and paste it into an email to us. Continuing on from the previous step;

      1. Select all the text in the traceroute files
        1. Hold down the CTRL (“control”) button on your keyboard, and tap the “A” key.
        2. This is a shortcut to “Select all”. The text will go white, and the background black. Let go of the CTRL key.
      2. Copy the traceroute report
        1. Hold down CTRL again, and tap the “C” key, then let go of the CTRL key. This will copy that stuff into your computer’s memory.
        2. If it all disappears and is replaces with the letter c, you need to hold down CTRL again, and tap the Z key – this will undo the last action. Go back to step 1 above, and try again.
      3. Reply to the email where we asked you for a traceroute, say hello
      4. Paste the traceroute report
        1. Hold down the CTRL key, and tap the V key. Your traceroute info should appear there as if by magic. Let go of the CTRL key.
      5. Send the email to us, and we will investigate from there.

Sometimes you need to know what your settings are for your computer, especially if you wish to compare with the minimum settings a website may suggest, or if you wish to alter them to fit an update in technology.

      PCs

Right-click on your desktop and choose Properties. Under Settings there will be an adjustable slider that shows your Screen Resolution as a width-height ratio. The default in XP is 800×600, our minimum specs recommend 1024×768. Ideally you would want 1280×960 at least to see our images fit the screen dimensions better.

Some CRT monitors and video cards do not allow some resolutions to display without also adjusting the refresh rate frequency to accommodate flickering. To do this go to Advanced and choose the Monitor tab, where you can choose a Hertz frequency. The higher the number, the less flickery the screen will be.

      Macs

Choose the Apple menu System Preferences, and then Displays. There will be choices of screen ratios available. Our minimum specs recommend 1024×768. Ideally you should use 1280×1024 at least to see our images fit the screen dimensions better.

      Overview

Paying customers need to “log in” (provide a username and password that’s checked by our systems) to access the majority of our images and videos.

How do I know if I am already logged in?

It’s possible you’re already logged in – if you checked the “Remember me” option last time you visited our site, and you’re using the same computer, you’re probably already logged in.

Visit the Members news page (https://www.abbywinters.com/members – this link opens in a new browser tab), and check the top-right corner.

ABOVE: If you see a “Member login” button, you’re not logged in. Click the button to start the log in process.

ABOVE: Seeing your username in this area means you’re logged in with that username. Of course, your username will be different to this!

If it’s your first time visiting our site after becoming a paying customer, you’ll need to log in.

      Normal login operation

Customers can log in from most pages on our site – look to the top-right corner. Best is to use the Members news page. Normally, logging in is quite simple. When the “Member Login” button is clicked, a new window opens:

ABOVE: When logging in, enter (1) Your username, and (2) Your password.  (3) Shows this is protected by Google’s reCaptcha system – no action needs to be taken. (4) You probably want your browser to remember you, so you do not have to log in again each time you visit. (5) Click log in.

The website thinks for a few seconds, then you’re logged in (assuming you entered the correct username and password! If not, you’ll need to try again. More info).

      Extended operation

We use tools to help us ensure that you’re not an automated computer hacking program trying to gain access to our site.

Many sites on the internet – including ours – are attacked by malicious people, who try to break into our site and steal information (or, just try to log in so frequently that site stops working, because it cannot handle 10,000 login attempts per second). Mostly, this is sort of thing is done by children and simple computer programs, and is simply a modern form of vandalism.

So, to ensure the website stays operational for paying customers, we use tools to identify if it’s a human completing the login form, or a computer program trying to fill it (trying many different combinations of usernames and passwords). We use Google’s Invisible NoCaptcha reCaptcha system – it’s widely used, well supported and works on all devices.

Google have a help page for reCaptcha users (we’re using Invisible reCAPTCHA V2).

If the system think you might be a “robot” or an attacker (or it detects something suspicious, such as logging in the first time, or logging in from a different computer), the system may ask you to complete an additional challenge, to verify you’re a human. Something like this:

      captcha additional verification

In the above example, the user is asked to identify all the images that contain flowers (1). So, the user should click once on images that contain flowers – (2), (3), (4), and (5), then click the “Verify” button, (6). Once verified, clock the “Login” button – if your password and username were entered correctly, you’ll be logged in to the site.

It’s no problem if you miss an item, select too many items, or select a wrong item – you’ll just be asked to solve a slightly different puzzle. If the current puzzle is too difficult (for example, you cannot determine what the images are of), you can click the Refresh button (labelled (8) in the image above), to load a new puzzle. If you cannot see the images clearly enough, there’s also an audio version – see below for more info, Trouble seeing the images?.

Sometimes, reCAPTCHA offers different challenges, for example:

      recaptcha alternat operation 2

In the example above, we’re asked to “decode” the partially hidden street number (1).

As a human, we can see this is probably “3316” (computers are not good at making these kinds of guesses, but humans are). So we’d simply type the number (2) – 3316, then click Verify (3).

Maybe this challenge is too difficult? It’s always fine to have a go, it’s no problem if you get it wrong. Or, you can click the Reload button (4), to be shown a different challenge.

Here’s another example of a different mode of operation:

      captcha variant 3

The challenge is to identify all the squares that show some street signage (your challenge will be different to this one). So, we select squares (1), (2), (3), (4), and (5) then click Verify.

      Extended-Plus operation

Occasionally, the system may ask you to select more than 3 to 5 images that match – each time you select an image, it replaces it with another image that may or may not match the requirement. This may require up to 12 clicks, though 8 is more common.

There’ll be a message in red like this, (“Multiple correct solutions required – please solve more”):

      captcha multiple items reqd

Another variation, the system can show you one large picture broken up into a mosaic, and ask you to select parts of the image that match certain criteria.

Trouble seeing what the the images are? Try a different set.

There is a button to request a new set of images, that may be clearer for you. Simply click the reload button:

      captcha reload

All the images confusing? Try audio instead.

If you have trouble seeing all images, the computer can instead speak a series of five numbers, and you type them in.

When asked to identify images, click the “headphones” icon.

      audio captcha

      audio captcha part 2

      (1) Press Play. Listen for the numbers being spoken slowly. (2) Type the numbers. (3) Click Verify. Once the verification is passed, click Login to complete the sign-in process.

Not working right? Try bypassing the cache.

To speed things up and conserve communications bandwidth, web browsers attempt to keep copies on your computer of pages, images, and other content you’ve visited, so that it need not be downloaded again later. This called called “caching”.

While this usually works well, occasionally this caching scheme goes awry (e.g. your browser insists on showing you out-of-date content) making it necessary to bypass the cache, thus forcing your browser to re-download a web page’s complete, up-to-date content.

This may resolve issues you’re experiencing with the “I’m not a robot” function. To bypass the cache, it’s a little different depending on browser and operating system.

      bypass chache

See http://www.refreshyourcache.com/en/home/ for more help on this. The page will reload, and appear the same, but it may work correctly now.

Once the cache has been bypassed, try logging in to the site again, of course responding to the “I am not a robot” thing correctly. If it works now, please let us know, so we can pass this tip on to more people?

      Still not working right?

Try using a different web browser (for example, if you’re using Internet Explorer, try Chrome. If you’re using Chrome, try Firefox). If it works well for you, it’s likely there is a caching issue on the original browser – try bypassing your cache again, described above. We support all modern web browsers.

If what you experience is different to what we described above, and bypassing your cache did not help, please describe exactly what you see, make a screen capture of it (help for Windows 7, 8 and 10, Help for Mac OSX), and email the screen shot and your description to support@abbywinters.com.

Will get back to you in under 24 business hours. Be sure to check your spam filter – sometimes messages from us are marked as Spam. 🙁

      Make a screenshot

      For MS Windows

      1. Set up your screen to show what you want to capture
      2. In Windows 7 or later, go to the Start menu and type “Snip” – the Snipping Tool will show up, start it.
        1. Snipping tool
      3. In Win7 and 8, the screen will appear “washed out” immediately, and the pointer will be a cross-hairs. In Win 10, click “New” to start a new screen cap – the screen looks “washed out”, and is ready for a screen capture to be made
      4. Click to select the top left corner of the screen you want to capture, drag to the bottom right, let go. The captured portion of the screen is shown in Snipping Tool. If a mistake is made, simply click New to start over.
      5. The screen capture is automatically copied to memory, and so can be pasted into an email directly.  Or, to save a copy of that image, File menu, Save As. Save it as a jpg file in your My Documents folder, or perhaps on your Desktop.
      6. Drag the resulting image to attach it to an email, or attach it to a Boards post

      In Mac OSX:

      1. Set up your screen to show what you want to capture
      2. Press CMD-SHIFT-4 (to capture an area of the screen); the mouse pointer changes to crosshairs
      3. Drag to select an area. While dragging, you can hold the Shift key, Option key, or Space bar to change the way the selection moves.
        1. screen_capture
      4. When you’ve selected the area you want, release your mouse or trackpad button. To cancel, press the Escape (esc) key before you release the button.
      5. Find the screenshot as a .png file on your desktop.

Attach the file to a boards post

This is not necessary, it may be more suitable to contact our Customer Support department with the screenshot, in which case, attach it to an email.

      1. At the Quick Reply box at the bottom of each thread page is the “Go Advanced” button. Click it.
      2. On the next page that loads, hit the “Manage Attachments” button.
      3. On the popup window that appears hit the “Browse” button and find the jpeg file you previously saved from above.
      4. Then hit the “Upload” button and wait while it uploads. When the image is ready hit the “Close this window” button in the popup window.
      5. You now should be back in the forum so add text to your reply and then hit the “Submit Reply” button.
      6. Your new post should now have a screenshot in it.

Apple’s decision not to support Adobe Flash has caused tremendous problems for video sites all over, and we’re no different. However, we have taken a few steps to make this work well, but the iPad is very finicky, so you need to follow these instructions precisely. There are two methods, that give similar results.

      Method 1

      1. Log into the site
      2. Go to a shoot page. Our site will detect you’re using an iOS (Apple)
device, and make some slight changes to the page and your prefernces.
      3. To the right of the video thumbnail, you see a series of radio
buttons (LQ, SQ, HQ, and HD), signifying quality settings. Select LQ.
      4. Click the Download MP4 link below the video, the video will start playing

      Method 2

      1. Log into the site
      2. Go to a shoot page. Our site will detect you’re using an iOS (Apple) device, and make some slight changes to the page and your prefernces.
      3. On a video panel (the panel with the clapper-board logo), click once on the thumbnail icon. It will go black for a moment, the page might flicker, and the image will change. Wait around 10 seconds, while the video “buffers” (loads the first part). You may see a “play” icon while it buffers – remain patient!
      4. A tiny version of the video will start playing: you’ll see a black bar at the bottom, with a pause button, and a “expand” icon. If the black bar disappears, touch the video once, it will re-appear.
      5. Click the expand icon to make it full-screen, or de-pinch the small video.

      Applies to both methods
Once the video is full-screen, there are a few options, supplied by the iOS video player (so, these controls are common to any video you play on your device). Touch the video playing once to acces them. From the top:

      • Click “Done” to close the video. Unfortunately, this closes the Safari browser as well – start it again, and you’ll be back where you were.
      • The scrub bar lets you drag the “pip” along the timeline, to find the bits you like the most. Usually only takes a few seconds to start the video again from the new point. Neat trick: wile scrubbing left-to-right, drag down /up to control the speed of scrubbing.
      • The “expand” button makes the video full-screen, but cuts off the sides of the video (as all our newer videos are 16:9 aspect ratio), so is not recommended.
      • At the bottom, clicking the “track skip left” button takes you to the start of the video. “Track skip right” takes you to the end of the video (not very useful).
      • The play / pause button works as expected.
      • Adjust the volume to suit your preference.
      • Clicking the shrink button should return you to the page the video is on, but unfortunately does not: it exits to the desktop, and you need to start Safari again.
      • Pinching to return to the page does work fine, however

      Known issues

      • This does not work on iPhone 3’s, regardless of the iOS version. Sorry – talk to Apple!
      • You cannot save videos to your iPad, as far as we know. But do tell us if you work out a way!
      • You can try downloading the HD version of the video (select the HD option on the right, click the MP4 link), but it does not work so well, because MP4 relies on the devices CPU to decode, and iPad1 CPU’s are not beefy enough). Your milage may vary – there is a noticable increase in image quality.

To see the security code you must have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

It is also possible that you’re behind a proxy server, firewall, or you’re running your own firewall or security software such as Zone Alarm, Norton Internet Security, etc. If this is the case you’ll need to adjust your settings to allow access to abbywinters.com.

We’re concerned about the security of our site for ourselves, our models, and our customers.

If you discover an exploit or vulnerability in abbywinters.com or a related non-WordPress site, or one of our internal applications, we encourage you to let us know right away. We will investigate all reasonable reports, and do our best to quickly fix the problem.

      Responsible Disclosure Policy

Taking a cue from Google and other large tech companies, we have a simple “Responsible Disclosure Policy”, which must be observed when reporting an exploit or vulnerability. If you follow these points, we won’t get our lawyers involved.

      • You give us reasonable time to investigate, before making your findings public
      • You do not use the exploit to take unauthorised information or media from us
      • You make reasonable efforts to ensure private information is not distributed
      • You do not exploit a vulnerability for any reason
      • You do not violate any laws in your jurisdiction

      Bounties

      We may, at our discretion, pay Bounties (cash payments) to people who meet our Responsible Disclosure Policy. The amount of the Bounty will be determined by the size of the impact and the significance of the risk we assess the discovered issue to be. For example;

      • You find a flaw in a WordPress installation we administer, that’s fixed in the next WordPress update. You let us know about that. We have a regular program to update WordPress instances, they are known to be “buggy” in general. This is a small, low-impact, low-risk scenario, so we’re unlikely to pay a bounty for this.
      • You find a security misconfiguration that exposes unencrypted admin credentials on one of our Production web applications. This is a larger issue, it’s higher risk, and has a large impact if exploited. We’d be likely pay a larger cash bounty, between US$500 and US$1500.

Amounts we pay for bounties are calculated at our discretion only.

If we receive multiple reports of the same issue, we assess on a “first in, best dressed” policy. Issues we’re already aware of likely will not pay a bounty.

Taking a lead from Facebook, if you provide proof of donation of the bounty fee we pay you to a recognised charity, we will match that donation to that charity.

If you wish, we will publish your name on this page, as recognition of your efforts (However, to date, no one has wished for that. :()

We typically get a few items reported a month, and roughly one every two months receive payments between $25 and $150. For minor items, we offer a free website subscription.

      Reporting a vulnerability

Email garion.hall@abbywinters.com with the subject “Reporting a vulnerability”.

Cannot view profiles on a Mac using Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer for Macs has not been supported by either Apple or Microsoft for many years. It has therefore not been upgraded while new developments in web technology have advanced. As our site uses cutting edge technology in some of its design, IE for Macs no longer cuts the mustard.

To view our site correctly, you need a modern browser. We recommend Firefox or Safari, and some have suggested Camino. They are free to download, and are much better browsers than IE in all ways, including increased security, greater usability, and they are constantly kept up to date with newer web developments. You will not regret this change.

On OS9, my browser just isn’t working with your site at all
We do not really support OS9, as mentioned in our Minimum Specs, so the best we can offer is a single browser that will work acceptably, which is Mozilla 1.2.1. We have provided a copy for download.

Cannot log on to your site – I’m stuck with the logon dialog
It is very important to set your browser to enable Javascript and accept cookies. Our identification system is cookie based and if your browser doesn’t accept them you will not be able to log on. You can access this setting via the “Preferences” menu of your browser.

Also, make sure your browser is up to date (check out the Minimum Specs), and try hitting the refresh button (or hit Command+R/Apple+R) when you’re at the main page.

It is also a good idea to check the “remember me” check box, so you won’t have to log on every time you visit us.

Cannot playback videos on Safari with Quicktime 7
When you click on a video link in Safari, expecting the video to playback on Quicktime 7, and instead you get a question mark and nothing seems to happen, this fault lies not with us, but with Safari’s Quicktime plugin.

Streaming our video is not recommended, as we do not use proper streaming servers, they are file servers only. These are MPEG-1 video files, not Quicktime MOV files, and the plugin has a bug that does not seem to like them.

      There are several solutions:

      1. Our recommended suggestion is for you to ctrl-click and download the videofiles, or use a Download Manager, so you can play them back from your hard drive at your leisure. (option-click the link to bypass the list of options and go straight to downloading)
      2. Alternatively you can use a different browser, Firefox, in which the Quicktime 7 plugin seems to work just fine.
      3. Or you can try to eliminate one of the plugin files in Safari. Go to the folder “~/library/Internet Plug-ins” and delete the file: “Quicktime Web Plugin”. You will see two Quicktime plugins there, the one you delete is the one with the word “web” in its name. Simply pull that plugin out, restart the computer, and video streaming should return to normal within browser windows.

We take security seriously – both of our site, and your data.

We do not know your password: once you enter it into the form when joining (or, accepting the pre-selected one), it’s encrypted. When you go to log in, we encrypt the password you typed / pasted in using the same method as the original, then compare them. If they are the same, we let you in, if not, we do not.

When going to log in to abbywinters.com, there is a “Forgot password?” link on the sign-in window.

      ABOVE: re

ABOVE: (1) Forgot password link, lets you reset your password yourself.

You’re asked to enter your username. If our system has that username on file, we send an email to the associated email address on file, with a link to reset the password (or email may be in your Spam folder – check there if you do not see the email after 60 seconds or so). More details on that process in the FAQ How do I reset my password?

If you joined by CCBill (less unlikely – check your credit card statement), you can go to their account lookup page, or contact their Support department there. They have 24/7 support, and you could also call them.

Windows Media Player reports, “Cannot play the filetype…”

Windows Media Player is probably one of the worst video players ever made – and with every release of Windows, it seems to get worse still! Due to complicated licensing arrangements and trying to “please everybody”, Microsoft seem to have stymied themselves.

It’s possible to download and install plugins (some are paid) to make Windows Media Player “better”, but it’s far easier to install a new program that simply does it all “out of the box”.

The free, excellent, reliable, fast, small and simple VLC is what you really need. Download it here: http://www.videolan.org/

When installing, associate all video files with it (particularly MP4), so it’s the default program to open videos. Then, double-clicking on a video file on your computer will Just Work!

      Stuttering, jerky playback

If Streaming: The internet connection between our servers and yourself is not fast enough.

      • Try streaming a lower quality
      • Try letting the video “buffer” – click play, then pause, and watch the grey bar advance. When it has advanced to about 50%, click play again.
      • Try streaming later – internet speeds can fluctuate (more details can be found on this FAQ page: How come it’s slow to download from your site?)
      • It may be that your internet connection can never support streaming videos. You will need to download videos instead.

If Download: There’s a problem with your computer.

      • MP4 videos require a lot of computing power (CPU) to “decode” and play back, compared to other formats. Try downloading a lower quality MP4, as smaller files require less CPU to decode.
      • It’s possible (but unlikely), you have something else running on your computer using a lot of CPU power – stop that and try playing the videos again
      • WMV videos also require computing power to decode, though much less than MP4
      • MPG videos require the least computing power to play back, and so will almost definitely work (but the file size is larger, and the quality lower)
      • It’s possible the playback software is not doing a good job. We use and recommend the free, safe, easy, reliable and amazing VLC.
      • Your video card may be mis-configured, or not have drivers installed. Download and install the latest drivers from the manufacturer

Audio plays back but with no video, just a black screen

      If Download:

      • The playback software does not support the video codec (the way the video has been prepared by us). Download and install VLC or choose a different video file type (MPG, WMV). If you are using VLC, it may be a very old version – download the new version to upgrade.
      • This also occurs when using some laptops with an external monitor connected, video will not play back on the attached monitor. Closing VLC and restarting it on the other monitor, then dragging the video in to it may work, but it also may not. Upgrading your display drivers may resolve this, or it may just be a limitation of your laptop.

      No audio on playback

      If Streaming:

      • Make sure the volume adjustment on the player is not too low, and not muted (speaker icon with a line through it)
      • Check the volume control on your computer
      • Check if other things on your computer make a sound
      • Check if other abbywinters.com videos play back with audio

      If Download:

      • Check the volume control on your computer
      • Check if other things on your computer make a sound
      • Check if other AW videos play back

A “cookie” (also called web cookie, Internet cookie, browser cookie) is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on the user’s computer by the user’s web browser while the user is browsing that website (more info on Wikipedia).

Almost all websites use cookies extensively.

The first time a user visits…

Some cookies are set the first time a user performs an action (for example, visiting our site the first time). Computers sometimes interpret “first time” in unexpected ways. For example, if you visit our site today in the Chrome web browser, and tomorrow in the Firefox web browser, your computer and our site will consider both of these visits to be the “first time” in the context of cookie setting.

Similarly, clearing all cookies (or, all abbywinters.com cookies) will cause your browser to think that it’s the first time you have visited any site (or, just our site).

The difference between first-party and third-party cookies

We draw a distinction between third-party cookies, and first-party cookies.

First-party cookies are set by the site for the site – that is, abbywinters.com sets a cookie for a user of abbywinters.com to make the site nicer to use for that user.

Third-party cookies are set by a different site. In our case, we allow sites like Google Analytics to set cookies for users on abbywinters.com. We let people opt-out of third-party cookies being set.

All first-party cookies we set for Customers last for one year, based on the preferences of the user (Guests get default values set).

      Declining third-party cookies

Note, opting out of cookies only opts out of third-party cookies – first-party cookies are still set, as they are essential to accessing our website.

Guests are asked if they want to allow third party cookies when they first visit the site.

ABOVE: The location of the cookie decline / accept interaction.

If third-party Cookies are accepted initially but later the Guest user wants to decline them, easiest is to delete all cookies for abbywinters.com (varies by Browser, make a web search for “delete cookies Firefox” for example). On the next visit to abbywinters.com, you’ll be asked if you want to allow third-party cookies or not – select “Decline”.

Paying customers can opt-out of third party cookies in their preferences; Be logged in to abbywinters.com. In the user Control panel top right, select My Account, Preferences, General tab, Disallow third-party cookies.

      First-party cookies we set

      recently_visited

      Applies to: Guests; Customers.

This cookie stores the 10 most-recently visited pages on abbywinters.com, to show on our page – this is sometime called “breadcrumbs”, so it’s easy to go back a few steps. We are phasing this feature out in our site redesign. We’ll likely retain this cookie as it’s useful for customer support reasons.

No user data is stored, just the most recently visited URL’s on the abbywinters.com site. If a user submits a customer support ticket, those URLs are listed in the ticket to allow us to support the user better.

This cookies is set the first time the user visits our site, and is deleted when all tabs for our website are closed.

      ageverify

      Applies to: Guests; Customers.

When they first visit our site, we ask users to confirm they are over the age of 18. If the user selects “Enter”, we set a value of “1” so the user is not asked this question again.

This cookie is set the first time a visitor arrives on any page of our site.

No user data is stored in this cookie.

ABOVE: What the age verify modal looks like.

      cookie_accept

      Applies to: Guests; Customers.

We set this cookie based on the user’s choice to accept or decline third-party cookies. These cookies only contain a value (“allow” or “deny”), no user data is stored.

If the user selects to accept cookies, we set cookie_accept to a value of “allow”, and we set third party cookies (that is, Google Analytics).

If the user selects to decline third-party cookies, we set cookie_accept to a value of “deny”, and do not set third-party cookies (that is, cookies from Google Analytics).

To change this setting, Guests can choose to delete this cookie from their browser, and upon visiting the site the next time, they will be prompted to make a selection. Customers can do the same thing, or simply when logged in, in the user Control panel top right, select My Account, Preferences, General tab, Disallow third-party cookies.

      dl_quality

      Applies to: Guests; Customers.

This cookie sets the user’s preference for default video download quality. No user data is stored in this cookie, just a simple identification of the preferred video quality, for example, “HD_MP4”.

Guests receive the default setting, and cannot alter this option.

This cookie is updated when the Customer changes their preference.

      image_dl_quality

      Applies to: Guests; Customers.

This cookies sets the user’s preference for the default image download quality. No user data is stored in this cookie, just a simple identification of the preferred video quality, for example, “XL”.

Guests receive the default setting, and cannot alter this option.

This cookie is updated when the Customers changes their preference.

      tv_m, tv_time

      Applies to: Guests; Customers.

These cookies are used to store a user’s preferences regarding Tagging videos, micro-videos we pop-up from time to time showing our models encouraging users to add meaningful tags to the site.

No user data is stored, only integers relating to the user’s preference for how often we display these videos to the user.

Guests receive the default setting, and cannot alter this option.

This cookie is updated when the Customers changes their preference.

      video_dl

      Applies to: Guests; Customers.

This cookie allows the user to choose if they prefer to download or stream videos, when clicking on a video download link. We provide excellent video streaming options, so this is rarely used, but some weirdos like it…

Guests receive the default setting, and cannot alter this option.

No user data is stored in this cookie, just the word “download” or “stream”.

This cookie is updated when the Customers changes their preference.

      user

      Applies to: Customers only.

This cookie stores the user’s session ID, so the user is not asked for their username and password on each page they visit on our site (that’d be super annoying!). When the user reloads the page or follows a link we re-check this cookie and re-authenticate user.

Contained in this cookie is the user’s username and encrypted password (more info on how we keep your data secure).

This cookie is first set when a Customer logs in.

It is also possible that you’re behind a proxy server, firewall, or you’re running your own firewall or security software such as Zone Alarm, Norton Internet Security, etc. If this is the case you’ll need to adjust your settings to allow access to abbywinters.com.

abbywinters.com has been tested and is expected to work well on modern updated web browsers.

Some people use automated computer programs to attempt to break in to our site. To counteract this practice we ask you to prove you’re a human, using a CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart).

Automated computer programs can’t “read” the letters and numbers you see in the box, only humans can. When you enter this code (which changes on every page load), it ensures that your login is entered by a real person. This works as a deterrent to hackers – when they see there is a CAPTCHA test, they simply look for lower-hanging fruit.

If you’re not sure what the code is, make your best guess. If you’re incorrect, you’ll get another chance to enter a different word on the next screen.

You need to type the black letters and numbers into the blank box (pdahb in the example below). It does not matter if you type it in lowercase or uppercase. Do not enter spaces between the letters.

      SecCode2

These letters will change each time you reload the page or click the refresh icon below “I can’t read this”. After four minutes, you will need to reload the page or refresh the letters to get a new security code, as they do expire. If you try to log in with an expired code, you’ll be asked to log in again.

If you’re having problems reading the security code, and you’re using Windows, using the built-in “Magnifier” tool might help you.

Click on the Start menu, type Magnifier, and set it to the “lens” mode, a small handy tool that zooms in on an area around the mouse pointer. Set at about 200%, it should be perfect for you!

Cookies are useful – if we did not use cookies, you’d be asked to enter your username and password for every image and every video you looked at. This would become very annoying!

Here’s a list of all the cookies we set, and why we set them.

      Cookies are good!

We use cookies to help you access the site smoothly. We also use cookies to remember settings you make, like how many thumbnails per page, and if images open in a new window or not.

If you suspect you’re having cookie issues, to do things in this order (if the first thing in the list does not fix your problem, move on to the next item in the list, and so on):

      2. Enabling cookies in your browser

      Adjust Firewall

You may also need to adjust your software firewall (for example, Norton Firewall, or Zone Alarm) or ad blocking software. You need to explicitly allow “abbywinters.com” (exactly that, without the quotes). As there are so many different types of these, we cannot provide specific instructions, but you’re looking for something like “exceptions” or “allow”.

Let us know if you still have problems.

Why are the images are so darn big?

All the images on this site are around 1280×960 or 1470×980 pixels for large size images and 3504×2336 for XL images. When viewing images through the new site these images are automatically re-sized in your browser to fit your screen resolution and size of your browser window.

If you wish you can click on the image to view the full image in the browser or right-click and click “save image as” if you want to save it to your harddrive.

You can also select your preferred size for images from the preference in the my account page. This will affect the size of image that is loaded by default when browsing images and also the image that is downloaded when clicking on the download image icon (disk icon) on the image page. If you have selected XL as your preferred size and an imageset is not available with XL images it will default back to Large image size for that set.

Resizing images in a browser can result in lower quality images – they often distort and cause jaggy edges – so we recommend you download the images first (by zip, if you want more than several), and use an image viewing program on your computer.

Image viewers have many advantages over a web browser. There are many viewers to choose from, but we recommend IrfanView (free), or Windows / MacOS’s inbuilt viewer (both free). Some other suggestions from our members can be found in this thread on our discussion boards.

The simplest way to see the complete picture in your chosen image viewer is to use “Fit Image To Screen”. Most viewers can achieve this “on the fly” using a keyboard shortcut (e.g. in ACDSee it’s Ctrl and Numpad minus), and you can set this to be the default.

Your chosen image viewing application should come with a comprehensive Help file that will guide you through everything, but we have a lot of very knowledgeable members who will be happy to help you if you post on our discussion boards.

Why do I keep getting a page that says I need to log in again?

If you’ve logged into the site, but keep getting nagged to log in when trying to download images or videos, it indicates that your abbywinters.com cookies are stale or corrupted. What you need to do is delete your AW cookies and log in again by entering your username and password on the Home page.

These days, our personal computers can get infected with “malware” – software that makes computers behave incorrectly (but basically the computer still works). In your case, it seems you have a malware installed that is “sensitive” to abbywinters.com (and perhaps other adult sites as well).

Removing malware is usually not difficult – Malwarebytes is a program that removes malware, and has a free trial.

      Video & Audio

      Video quality timeline

2000 to 20010: All videos shot in Standard Definition. they appear low quiality compared to today’s standards.

2010 to 2020: All videos shot in High Definition (HD1080i).

2020 onwards: All videos shot in 4k.

      Overview of videos

We aim to have a combination of video formats that allow all users to enjoy our videos on a range of devices (phone, tablet, desktop/laptop, home cinema), and allow several download options. Our aim is to provide several options for everyone, regardless of your:

      • Internet connection speed
      • Quality preference
      • Streaming / download preference
      • Computer operating system

Like many things in life, video formats on the web involve trade-offs. If you want to get a video really fast, the quality might not be so good… the converse being, wait a little longer and get much higher quality video.

Before we make recommendations, we should be clear on what “streaming” and  downloadable” videos are. Both are very useful, but it depends on your personal preferences and circumstances.

      Streaming videos

      • Work like videos on YouTube
      • Don’t stay on your computer (good for privacy)
      • Easy to jump right to the good bits, almost instantly
      • Almost instant to start watching
      • Quality depends on your internet connection speed. Higher-speed connection means higher quality.
      • Must be a current member to see the videos (cannot see videos after your subscription lapses)
      • May not work well if you have a slow internet connection (or, quality will be low)

      Downloadable videos

      • You download a video file to your computer
      • Cannot watch until fully downloaded (depends on your connection speed, may be minutes or hours)
      • Someone else might find the downloaded files on your computer?
      • You can back the videos up, or have them on several devices
      • You have access to them, regardless if you’re a current paying member
      • Take up a lot of hard-disk space (you might need an external drive)

      Related questions and answers

There are a few ways to enjoy our videos on your big screen TV, but unfortunately, it’s not as simple as it should be in these modern times!

Internet-connected TV’s are becoming more common, but they almost all require “apps” from stores the manufacturer administers, and none will allow adult content (yet!). So, we need to do some workarounds.

The good news us, it’s not that hard!

HD or 4k videos are best for this

First, our HD or 4k videos are always preferred for viewing on a big screen – they are available at a high pixel count (4k is 3840×2160, HD is 1920×1080, both of which are optimal for modern TVs), and encoded at a high bitrate (which means all the details will be clear).

Option 1: Put files on a USB stick or drive (recommended)

Most modern TV’s have a USB port on the back, where a USB stick (or portable USB drive) can be plugged in. The TV has a simple “file browser” for exploring the folder structure on the USB device.

Our videos work fine with TV’s that have a USB port, and will simply play when selected. You can use your TV’s remote control to play / pause / ffwd / rwd / stop, and select another video. This also works for viewing images.

      To do this;

      1. Get a USB stick
        1. Sometimes called a USB Drive, flash drive, pen drive, thumb drive or similar
        2. These cost under US$10 each, and often come in packs of five
        3. These are available from office supply stores, supermarket chains, and similar. We recommend buying a brand-name USB drive – SanDisk, Verbatim, WD, Samsung.
        4. We recommend at least a 16Gb one (4k videos are around 3Gb each), 32Gb or 64Gb will hold more videos
      2. Download the videos you want to view on the big TV, onto your computer
      3. Copy the files over to the USB drive
        1. More info for Windows 10 and MacOS
        2. Video files are large and USB is slow, so a copy could take between 15 minutes and an hour per video
        3. We recommend “dismounting” the USB drive before removing it from your computer, more info
      4. Plug the USB drive into your TV
      5. Select the Source
      6. Navigate to the file
        1. Using the Up / Down / Left / Right buttons on the TV remote control
        2. Click the “OK” button to start playback
        3. The Up / Down / Left / Right buttons will probably ffwd / rew the video (each TV remote is different – have a play, you won’t break anything)
      7. Enjoy!

Remember to remove the USB drive when you’re done, if your TV is in a shared space! 😅

      Option 2: Use a Chromecast

Google developed a widget called a Chromecast that you plug into a HDMI port of your TV, and use it to watch TV from a variety of sources (Netflix, Youtube, etc), wirelessly. Chromecasts are available from most places that sell TV’s, but also online or direct from Google. They cost about $50, and are pretty cool!

Once set up, from a computer (laptop, desktop) you just go to the “hamburger” menu and select “Cast”, you select which device you want it to appear on, and it plays. More info on how to do it from Google. Casting can also happen from smart phones and tablets, though it’s a little more complex – more info.

      Option 3: Connect a computer

Perhaps you have a spare laptop that can be connected? Most modern laptops have HDMI ports, and when connected and AV1 / AV2 / AV3 is selected on the TV, the picture is nice and clear. We always recommend playing back videos in the excellent and free VLC Media Player (an application you install on your computer). Make the video full-screen by double clicking anywhere on the playing video.

At HQ, some staff have bought a small solid-state (no fans, no noise, low power consumption) PC’s for this (Intel’s NUC line is ideal for this). Connected by wifi, they are great for 4k Netflix, Youtube… and HD or 4k abbywinters.com! You can stream media files from another computer on your home network, or start a web browser, log in, and play streaming media files directly on abbywinters.com (maximised to full-screen).

      Option 4: Burn to DVD

A Dual-layer DVD holds 9.6Gb, that’s three or four GG or GB scenes (or about ten Solo scenes). Basic DVD authoring software may be required to make it work, but most DVD players these days can play video files directly from a DVD.

Worth checking if the options above are not good for you before trying this.

      To help you further…

All of this info may have helped you resolve the problem (or, the problem may have resolved itself by now). If not, we can investigate further.

Some of our older videos (released before 2004) do not have live sound, for a few reasons. All our new videos (a huge majority of our total library) do have live sound. Since 2004, we  go to a lot of trouble to record high quality sound with our videos.

        1. When we started shooting video, we knew nothing about video… or sound. We had the mic off entirely for a whole bunch of our shoots. We never thought about sound being an important factor. We were idiots.
        2. When we did start recording sound, we used the crappy mic on the crappy camera, which recorded everything equally loudly; the model talking, traffic outside, our feet on the floor, us talking, planes flying overhead, the radio playing in the background, and so on. It was an omni-directional mic, which means it picks up sound equally from all directions. We now use a shotgun mic, which is very directional.

Anyway, that’s history now! We record and use high quality sound on all our videos. Rather than take down all our old ones, we have left them on the site because they are not awful.

Between our inception in the year 2000 until June 2010, all the video we shot was in Standard Definition. Between July 2010 and Jan 2021, everything was shot and mastered in HD 1080p. Since then, everything has been shot in 4k.

Our current standard of 4k video is pretty good, and plan to stick with it for a few years at least.

Our HD1080 video is quite good, and we always encoded to a high bitrate so the HD versions of videos appear to a high standard. We may consider up-scaling HD 1080 videos to 4k in 2030 or so.

Our Standard Definition (SD) video is very low quality compared to today’s standards, and due to issues with the internet at the time, our videos were quite “compressed” (reduced in quality so they could be downloaded in a reasonable timeframe for most users).

For this reason, we’re looking into recapturing our SD content from the original MiniDV tapes, re-editing, and re-releasing on the site.

        What’s involved

This is an enormous and complex project – we have around 3,500 MiniDV tapes, and this is old, outdated technology – while it would be simple to do an analog capture, the quality is appalling. So we’re working to do digital capture (MiniDV stored the media digitally) to retain maximum image quality. That means using reliable Firewire cables (haha), Win7, firewire PCI cards from the 90’s and capture software from the early 2000’s. 24 years is ancient in computing, and getting the capture system working is very tedious.

The MiniDV tapes have been in cool and dark storage for the last 12 years, and are in very good condition. In tests so far, no tapes are damaged. Thankfully, the tapes are almost all labelled very clearly, and we seem to not be missing any (though we’re not sure how to tell that for sure).

Capturing is in real-time. Once we have a reliable capture system set up, we can look at scaling up to have several systems capturing concurrently (ie, several MiniDV playback devices, several PC’s).

ABOVE: Sorting out tapes, in this case from Solo model shoots.

        How it works

We have made a few tests of capturing full shoots, editing them and upscaling them to HD1080, and the results are truly excellent (in fact, even the uncompressed raw MiniDV image quality is quite impressive!).

Upscaling is adding pixel data between the existing “known” pixel values, using Artificial Intelligence. We’re using the Video Enhance AI software from Topaz Labs.

        Project timing

This is an ongoing project in 2022, and is being discussed on our forums under the Artificial Intelligence upscaling of old scenes thread. Participation from customers is most welcome.

Once the tests are concluded and we have a workflow that’s reliable, we can start capturing the old videos in earnest. We expect this to be a “years” project. We’ll be starting with Shoot Types we know are the most popular (for example, girl-boy shoots, big group shoots), then probably girl-girl sex shoots that feature popular models. Suggestions are welcome on the thread.

We’ll be adding a filter to the Browse page to show these upsampled videos.

We expect to have the first upsampled videos up on the site in March 2022.

For people who prefer just the technical specifications, details are as follows.

        • px = pixels, x-size by y-size – how big the video appears on screen. Larger numbers means better quality, larger file-size.
        • Kbps (kilobits per second) = bit rate, how many bits of information per second. Higher means better quality and a larger file-size.

        Downloadable video formats

4:3 scenes (for scenes released between 2000 and 2007)

        • MPG – 352px by 288px, 1500kbps – 2000kbps
        • WMV – 640px by 480px = 1500kbps – 2000kbps

16:9 scenes (scenes released between 2007 and 2019)

        • LQ h.264 – 512px by 288px = 500kbps
        • HQ h.264 – 1024px by 576px = 3000kbps
        • HD h.264 – 1280px by 720px = 5000kbps

Scenes released since Jan 2020 also have a 4k option.

        Where to find the videos

Our videos are linked from Shoot pages (where all the media from one shoot appears). Note that Models also have their own pages (that list all the Shoots they appear in), but no videos are linked from Model pages.

Logged in subscribers, and customers who have bought a scene via PPS see a Shoot page like this:

        shoot page explanation

ABOVE: the Shoot Page for one of Juliana’s shoots. The page is organised into a series of panels.

        (1) Is a short streaming video preview (30 to 45 seconds) of what happens in this scene.

        (2) Is for the main set of Still images, this links to a gallery page of thumbnails to see all the images from the main part of this shoot.

        (3) Is for the Dressing Room set of images, a voyeuristic look at the model getting dressed.

        (4) Links to the Video page for this scene, with all the video options (download, stream, video quality selection). See below for more details on this.

        (5) Links to Juliana’s Model page, to see all the shoots Juliana appears in.

        Selecting how to watch videos

There are two ways we make our videos available, (1) Streaming, and (2) Download. Each has several quality settings, from low to HD1080 to 4k.

ABOVE: The video clip page for a scene with Carolina S. (1) Streaming playback interface. (2) Video download interface.

ABOVE: The video clip page for a scene with Carolina S. (1) Streaming playback interface. (2) Video download interface.

        In a nutshell, we recommend:

        • (1) above: If you want a quick fix, reasonable to very good quality, and nothing saved on your computer: Stream videos (like on YouTube). Quality may not be as good as download, depending on your internet connection quality.
        • (2) above: If you want high quality, and want to keep our videos for a long time: download HD videos in MP4 format (you may need to install the excellent and free VLC media player)

        Streaming video

All our videos are available in a streaming format.

        streaming video player

ABOVE: The streaming video player interface for a scene with Carolina S. (1) The current play position. Click and drag to advance through the video. (2) The total length of the video. (3) Set the quality of streaming; this screenshot is in HD. (4) Set the volume level. (5) Make the video full-screen.

Streaming videos works for everyone using a modern browser (like YouTube):

        • Ideal for: privacy, instant fix, preview-before-download
        • Works on all modern browsers
        • For the techies: Streaming videos are in the MP4 / H264 format, streamed via a HTML5 player
        • These videos come in several qualities, Low, Medium, High, HD and 4k
        • If you have a slower internet connection, try the lower qualities
        • You can “scrub” – click anywhere in the timeline, to start watching from there instantly
        • High quality is a bit below DVD-quality; HD is 1080i
        • HD and 4k streaming may not work if your internet connection is low-bandwidth
        • You can make the video full-screen while you’re watching it
        • It can be useful to scrub through the Low quality version to see if you’re going to like this video, before downloading the HD / 4k version

        Video download

All our videos are available as a download, in several formats.

        video download options

ABOVE: The video download interface. (1) In this example, the HD (High Definition, best) quality is selected, which we only provide in the MP4 format. (2) This file is 2.3 gigabytes to download – very large! (3) The resolution of this file is 1920 x 1080 pixels. Perfect for a big TV! (4) The bit-rate is 10981Kbps, meaning the quality of the video is very high.

MP4: Works on all modern computers, smaller files, excellent quality, downloadable

The h.264/MP4 format (Wikipedia page for technical info):

        • Ideal for: people who prefer higher image quality, people with a computer bought in the last four years
        • MP4 videos have excellent “bang for your buck” (small file size, for high quality)
        • Works natively on Apple Mac computers running OSX, and iOS (iPad, iPhone) devices
        • Some older MS Windows (XP, Vista, Win98) computers may require download of the excellent VLC software (safe, easy, quick and secure). Windows 7, 8 and 10 should “just work”, but we still recommend using VLC Media player.
        • Some older Mac computers may require VLC to play back the files smoothly
        • We recommend HD or 4k MP4 videos as the best for viewing abbywinters.com content
        • MP4 videos require a reasonably modern (powerful) computer to play back
        • Slower or older computers may see jerky / stuttering playback: try playing back a lower quality MP4
        • Image quality is good to excellent

For the nerds: We stream the same file as is available for downloading. Yay for MP4!

WMV: Works for older Windows systems, download only (discontinued for all new releases from Jan 1, 2020)

        WMV, Windows Media format:

        • Ideal for: people with older (5+ years) MS Windows computers
        • These are only provided at medium dimensions
        • “Standard”, average quality
        • WMV won’t work easily on Apple Mac computers
        • Generally not recommended, as the quality is lower and file size is larger.

Our Intimate Moments (IM) videos run for around 10 minutes each. They are a single shot of a model masturbating to orgasm – for real, not faked. Some are subtle, some are screamers, but they are all fascinating to watch their methods and results.

Sometimes, we shoot an Intimate Moment with two models, both masturbating to orgasm. They might interact, or just trade glances. Sometimes, we have one girl masturbating, and one just watching her closely. It’s fascinating stuff!

        IM

        ABOVE: A double-intimate moment.

We have some self-imposed constraints on these videos.

        1. The video camera is on a tripod, and no one is operating the camera.
          1. We set it up, press Record, and leave the model in the room on her own. This way, we do not affect her work. Sometimes, the model moves (tho we ask her not to move position completely), which means the shot looks a little weird – half her leg cut off, or a lot of blank space on the left hand side.
        2. We instruct the model to take as long as she needs. For some, this is three minutes flat, for others, it’s 45 minutes.
        3. We usually only use one camera, but we have experimented with additional cameras.

We use two Sennheiser 416 shotgun mics to capture the best possible sound we can.

We have all heard of ladies masturbating with a shower head or faucet in a bath, right? This is pretty much impossible for us to film, as the sound of the water drowns out any sounds the model might make. That being said, we have done a few bath IM shoots.

From Jan 2020, all scenes we have released have a 4k version (that is, the scene was shot in 4k resolution).

Between 2010 and 2019, all scenes were shot in HD 1080. From 2000 to 2009, all scene were show in Standard Definition. 😭
